GardenSkill Pop-Up – Protective Net for Strawberries, Structure 1,00 m x 1,00 m x 0,75 m

Bought this to keep butterflies off my cabbages during the summer - they are easily big enough for this rather than just strawberries! I first tried using some cheap netting draped over garden canes, but this was untidy and allowed butterflies to lay through the netting.This fitted perfectly over my 4ft (122cm) raised beds (see pics) and once the butterfly season is over and the plants are more robust I can take it down. There are tags in the corners so I connected to hooks screwed into the raised beds, rather than using the metal pegs provided. The netting also acts as a sun shade, wind-break and should protect crops from heavy rain and hail.I was impressed by the quality, but only time will tell how it handles the weather and the sun over the years. I have not yet tried folding the frame back into the bag - there are instructions on the companies website, but not with the item itself. I don't think it will be a problem.I have now bought a second frame. This one sagged slightly as the frame on one end was slightly twisted, but was easily fixed with a garden cane.

I used to use netting until I saw a blackbird with some stuck in its throat so I got this instead.It has kept the birds off my strawberries without harming them, first year I've had enough strawberries to actually eat them from a bowl! Very expensive strawberries but better than shop bought ones and I suppose it'll pay for itself in a few years!

We bought this cage last year and liked it so much we have purchased another to protect lettuces etc. It is strong enough to put a sheet over to protect the plants from scorching sun and deter pesky Wood pigeons. A larger size was sent in error which we could not fit in and a correctly sized replacement was sent immediately without us having to return the first one. Would definitely use this company again.

I bought this because my veg were getting eaten by numerous creatures and I wasn't getting anywhere. I was amazed how easy it was when it popped up, absolutely brilliant. It is quite a size so I have got quite a lot under. The rain gets to the plants so that is no problem. I am thinking about getting a larger one for next year. I would have lost my veg most likely if I had not come across this. Really useful.

Took me a few minutes to realise I's purchased a different item than I meant to, but this product is great. Pops up and fits my raised bed perfectly. The top opening is not ideal for my veg plants, but once all my seedlings are in place I'll not need to access much.Would recommend

Pleased with this. This is protecting my berries. With hindsight maybe should have ordered something a little taller. The berries are still young so not an issue just yet.

Like all GardenSkill stuff, getting it back in the bag is a nightmare (even with the YouTube vids) but it's a great size and does the trick. I was really glad I had extra pegs handy to secure it cos even one windy day is enough to send this tumbling into the distance. But it does work - kept birds and the like off the strawbs and I finally got to eat some this year :)
