No, this PS2 Slim model from GhostCase is not compatible with the SCPH-79001 version. Please be aware that that this model is compatible with USA versions of the PS2 Slim including: 700xx , 750xx, and 770xx. The 'x' can be any number. Please be aware that for version 770xx there is a slight note you need to be aware of: please use a small piece of tape to hold down the 'door closed' button. The door close button is in the very front-right corner of the case before you install the lid back on! If you don't use some tape to hold the button in the 'down' position then the disc will not spin. There is a great youtube video from 2009 that shows how to install this case on a 770xx model and where to place the piece of tape, search for the video title 'PlayStation2 Slim Flip Top Case Installation - PS2 Import Lid Cover' and enjoy.

1) COMPATIBLE: This is compatible with PS2 Slim Models: 70001 and 75001 with an easy swap out install! 2) COMPATIBLE with slight tweak: With one tiny basic modification it will also easily work with PS2 Slim Model: 77001 (look for youtube video named 'PlayStation2 Slim Flip Top Case Installation - PS2 Import Lid Cover' by username 'videogamecentralshow' to see the info they posted online many years ago about this model 77001! 3) NOT COMPATIBLE: This GhostCase is not compatible with PS2 Slim Models 79001 or 90001.
