Can this be used on carpet?

Having tried both products, you definitely want too get the CARPET film. It has a different adhesive than the blue hard surface film. I am skeptical that the blue hardwood film would work on carpets as it is much less tacky and barely sticks to hardwood. The carrot film suck very well to hard floors and was tedious too remove after a couple weeks, but no damage.

Does this work on stairs?

This product does not work well on any surface that you walk on more than one or two days. I tried to use it to protect our hardwood flooring and stairs while we were repainting the house. Within 2 days of prep work on the walls, this stuff was already lifting up and impossible to put back. Imagine trying to pull saran wrap back apart after you take it off a piece of cake that was covered in icing and crumbs, it just doesn't work like it did when you first wrapped it - you need a new piece.

What is the thickness of this product?

I don't know the specific thickness but this protected the floors of our newly built home as movers carted many boxes in.
