Smart Ceiling Fan with Lighting - LED Light Black Indoor Ceiling Fan,52" WiFi Smart Fan Work with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant by Ankee

Had this fan 2 years and 3 months today as I write this review. This fan stopped working 2 weeks ago, had several problems with fan working properly with alexa (echo) over and over and over again and now or 2 weeks ago, it’s not working at all. So regret buying this fan!!!

This can sucks. You can’t turn the fan off and have the light on. It’s supposed to be warm white but isn’t. The App is a joke and the remote sucks. Who wants a fan that is always on? The fan and light are completely aligned, slow fan = dim light. Bright light = fast fan. So much for “smart”. Not worth $149!

I needed a ceiling fan for my studio/office area and i am trying to convert a vast majority of my house into smart controlled and i found this light. I was a bit skeptical bc of some bad reviews about it being difficult and so hard to install and not working with the apps or whatever. Let me assure you, it was no more difficult to install this fan than any other light. I briefly went over some instructions just to double check what i initially thought to do, but it’s very straight forward. You connect the same colored wires to each other. Bizarre concept i know. The hardest part was installing a junction box in my ceiling to hold the weight of the fan but that’s not the fans fault (there was no ceiling fan in there before so i had to upgrade the box. The fan isn’t super heavy) There’s a big transmitter box that gets connected for wireless functionality and home control. It slides right up in the junction box and hides away perfect. I downloaded the app and connected it to my google home within moments. It works without a hitch. Feels great. You can’t even hear it running. Super quiet. The light is bright and although i prob won’t use the light much, it’s nice to have the option and it’s super affordable! A+ give it a try. I don’t usually do reviews but this on deserves a good one bc i read several with people complaining. It’s a great product. Buy it. Try it.

After using it for 2 months I have to say it is working good for me. I just have a two-wire circuit to the fan. When I enter the room I turn the switch on and the light turns on then I can control the fan with remote. Still, the Alexa skill needs some serious upgrading.It looks good and it works well. Nice light, buy it doesn't work with Alexa Somewhat noisy. The fan blades really hard to put on. Once that you have installed it's too much trouble to return.

The description says that this fan is black. When it arrived, while the fam blades are black the rest of the fan parts are oil rubbed bronze. I spray painted mine black. It’s sleek and it looks great in our living room. My two main issues were that the LED light disc and part wasn’t in the box and when I looked to figure out who to contact, there’s no contact information for the company. Thankfully amazon is handling the issue. It was a pain to install, just because you absolutely have to include the small junction box in order to change the fan speed and the light and there wasn’t enough room for the junction box and the wires so we had to mess with the bracket to make it all fit. As happy as I am with it now that it’s hung up, I can’t say that I would repurchase this fan.

Love this fan! It looks great and super quiet. I like being able to tell Alexa to turn on kitchen fan.

UPDATE 6/2021: almost a year later and it died. No response from customer support. Lesson learned with this company. 7/2020: Wired everything up, figured out the notch on the downrod is VERY important for getting the receiver to fit properly, turn the power back on and- no light. The fan can be turned on and off by every button on the remote (including the light button) but I can't change the fan speed. So I took everything back down to look at the wiring and realized the instructions were wrong- don't connect the black and blue wires together, but rather black-black, blue-blue. You know, like a normal person would. double-checked connections from fan/light to receiver to mains, put everything back, flipped the breaker and voila! The fan works just like it should, controlled by only the fan button, can change the speed, everything is as it should be. Except the damn light still doesn't work. I can hear the switch clicking when I push the button for it, but nothing happens. On top of that the app will not connect with the fan so I can't even try it via software. I put in a support ticket with Ankee on their website, but still haven't heard anything back and it's been a week. But the fan runs great! Super quiet, moves air like a dream. Wish I had the light though, and the smart function I paid for. It would be pretty great if Ankee got back to me too.

So this is a very simple case of "Made in China". the item looks good when its up but installing this you can tell its made very cheaply. The glass dome is plastic, the blades are very cheap plastic and not even finished on the other side.The instructions are poorly put together with many spelling errors and even have an addition added to the box which looks like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy. looks terrible.the worst thing about this fan is that it doesn't really work with alexa. i can say "turn my fan on" and it will turn the whole unit on! the WHOLE unit. if you would like to change the fan speed or have just the back light on, you will have to remember the command :Alexa, ask ankee to turn on the back light of my bedroom fan" or "alexa, ask ankee to turn the fan speed to 30% on my bedroom fan". its not friendly at all. i should have just paid the extra $30 and got a quality one from the home depot.
