Excellent puzzle
Amazing puzzle made of metal. The end product is beautiful. The puzzle is challenging enough for adults but easy enough for an older child. These puzzles helped my husband through rehab on two complete shoulder replacement surgeries.

For Veteran+ Model Builders. NOT Recommended for Starters
It's not nearly as hard as some of the others make it seem--they likely just lack experience. It was my 5th model ever, and I finish in 10.5 hours (although I apparently have the natural dexterity for micro-assembly). Not so much difficult as tedious: you have to fit a dozen tabs at once, so the bend angles are critical; it can become quite vexing at times. Definitely NOT for beginners, novice, or amateurs. On a generic/average scale, I would rate it hard to expert level. Also, exercise caution when taking parts out of sheet (as always) because there are small parts that'll break, like ships. I did not have this problem, but I can see it happening. Overall, it's a fun, majestic, and milestone piece that'll leave you feeling weary but accomplished since it's one of the most intricate and sophisticated buildings models.

I love these models
I love these models! They're a great project to put some time into. This one is especially persnickety - I used the flat tweezers that came with the model as well as a pair of thinner, sharper tweezers. Because of the number of curved and thin pieces in this set, you do have to be a wee bit gentler than with some of the other models like the vehicles. The metal of the ICONX does seem to be a bit better quality than some of the other metal models that I've seen - with a thicker material and more precise lines.

Made by Sadists for near-sighted Masochists :)
My kids bought me this for Father's Day...this is the first of these metal models I have attempted. As someone else had pointed out, the base (first 5x steps) is by far the hardest...the instructions are not clear on the forming of the walls, and this made later assembly more difficult. Also, I ended up breaking a couple of the pieces...one just removing from the sheet.--Lesson 1...weaken connection point with a blade before removal if there are more than 3x connection points! If only 2x connection points you can twist them out....I really need to find a tool to help cutting these out...too easy to break pieces. [edit March 2019]...I realized after doing a couple of these models to get a set of micro cutters like the Hako CHP-170. For a few dollars, they make removing the pieces from the baseplate effortless.--Lesson 2...to repair a broken piece, take mylar (or any thin plastic) and super glue to backside of the pieces.--Lesson 3...have assortment of small tools/tweezers...they give you a tweezer, but not going to work for all assembly. There are some physical near impossibilities in the base assembly...conflicting perpendicular tabs, etc. Patience will win out, and once you get all the interior walls/steps in place, it is much more stable. Others say "needle nose pliers, don't see how...those tools just too big".Working on the domes now...going much smoother than the base.Just make sure you attach the top pieces before forming the bottom pieces (contrary to directions)...Step 7...attach 16 to 17 then form 17, Attach to 18, then form 18, etc. After assembly, I don't know why they don't recommend building the walls on the base...when I came to assemble everything I was not perfectly formed/square...basically had to use base to do this. Also, don't get ahead of yourself...I put everything together and realized the final 2x sets of stairs weren't on...I was able to insert/mount them through the "doors", but while some out of order assembly works better than the instructions, just be careful.

It was so much fun to put together
This was my first metal model and it will not be my last. It was so much fun to put together. A bit challenging and definitely not for those who have little patience when it comes to these kinds of hobbies.I would definitely recommend that you have a set of small pliers/tools to put this together. Fortunately, I make wire jewelry so I had the perfect sized pliers to work on this. If you think all you will need is the tweezers included with this, you are sorely mistaken. In fact I never used the tweezers. With this model you will have to be gentle and take your time. The instructions are good. Just take your time and read them. My St. Basil's Cathedral looks great and I can't wait to do more of these models.

Hours of quiet husbands await the arrival of these
My husband loves these! There must be about 10 different little models he has made all over the house. For Christmas I got him a bunch more because they keep him busy for hours and he uses it as a way to unwind after work. They are very time consuming and take a lot of patience, something I do not have. He is also a mechanical engineer so that is part of the reason for his love for them, nothing makes him more happy than breaking things down and then engineering them back together. Typically he breaks down giant motors so giving him something Tiny to keep him busy also saves me lots of space in the already full garage. If anyone knows an engineer or someone who works on mechanical things they will love these.

Another great model. I have assembled 25 of these so ...
Each one of these models has its own quirks. This one is the onion shaped tops. I found that using a pencil eraser to help mold the domes makes it easier. Another great model. I have assembled 25 of these so far and I have ordered more. I am pretty much home bound because of some illnesses and these models helps me to pass the time. I hope there are plans for Fascinations too make many more.

Great build if you know what you're doing
This is a bit challenging if you've never built one before. There are a lot of tiny sutble bends that might be overlooked if you don't pay attention. Also, connect different parts can get pretty difficult in terms of lining tabs up to the holes. It comes with a pair of tweezers, but they aren't great. I barely used tweezers at all, pliers proved better for me. Also, wire cutters are HIGHLY recommended in getting the pieces out of the sheet.
