Been looking for something like this!
I needed to replace a single pole switch that did not have the neutral wire into the switch box. I wanted to make it remote. This wired into the box easily and the remote snaps off the front, and, viola! I have a remote light. My application is for an outdoor pool light (in a weatherproof case). The remote can stay in my family room and I can control my light from in the house. Perfect!

It works through cement but service life needs improvement.
For our home in Panama I wanted to be able to turn off the overhead light in the bedroom (triple CFL fixture) without having to get out of bed. I knew that there were remote controls but I wondered if there were any that would actually install inside an electrical box. I searched Amazon and found this unit. One small problem became immediately apparent. The switch I wanted to replace is one of two in a double box. I was able to find a double outlet plate in which one opening was for a regular switch and the other for a dimmer. This unit fits into the dimmer opening. Other than this the unit seemed to be ideal, so I bought it but had to hang onto it until we returned to Panama. When we did and I read the installation instructions my heart sank. There is (of course) an antenna wire on it. The directions were to feed it through a hole in the electrical box and let it drop down inside the sheet rock. Panama is too damp for sheet rock construction. Everything is made with concrete. Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst, I fed the wire, instead, down into a plastic conduit that ran through the bottom of the box. That meant it was not only buried inside cement, but was running parallel to a ground wire for about 3 feet, which is not favorable for reception either.Imagine my joy, then, when it worked perfectly - not only from about 10 feet away in bed but also from about 13.5 feet away through two cement walls.Revision 5 years later: It quit working sometime when we were back in the states and I discovered it non-functional when we got back here. Replacing the battery in the remote did not help. What's worse, since our house here is sometimes rented I had ordered an extra remote in case someone carried off the original by accident. Using the replacement remote also failed to work.

Works great and simple to install
Works great and simple to install. I do electrical work only when I have to. The simpler the better. The terminology in the instructions left me guessing and the net didn't help any. I thought I had it figured out then found things weren't as they should be inside the existing switch box. If you have any doubt what it "load" and what is "line" grab one of the small electrical pens they sell at any hardware store. Turn it on and hold it to the wires on the old switch. If the light the switch controls is "off" you will get a beep from the pen telling you one wire has juice and the other does not. The one with the juice connects to the black wire on the Skylink Receiver. The red will connect to the other wire, the one that had no juice when the switch was "off".Programming is simple. Hit the small button on the receiver you just installed for three seconds. You'll see a steady blue LED on top on the receiver. Remove the battery from the remote and reinstall it. Hold the button on the remote until you get a steady red LED on the LED. That's it! The "steady" LED is not what I'd call steady but it's not an on-and-off flashing. Very quick and easy to program.Considerations; the website and packaging will list maximum wattages. Elsewhere on the net a gentleman pushed the maximum wattage and it melted the switch. Stay within those numbers. They also specify what types of lights it will support. Don't know what would happen if you used a type not listed. All in all I'm very pleased with this unit. My wife needed some lighting while playing with our psychopathic dog outside at 0430. The easiest way to do this was replacing the basement porch light with a flood light but the switch is in the basement, a pain to get to when the dog needs to get outside to sniff at 0430. The SkylinkHome WE-318 On/Off Wall Switch Receiver with Snap-On Remote was a fast and easy solution for the task!

Skyline remote switch
Let's just start by saying, I hate being cold. I don't mean that loosely, I mean...it hacks me off when I step out of the shower and the air is freezing, or when I have to get out of bed and air around my toasty body is cold. It kinda makes me want to punch the wall....but I don't. Lol.We have a window unit in our bedroom with a remote, so that helps, however, our ceiling fan would still be running and circulating the cold air. Major bummer. After 4 years in this house, you'd think me good ole brain would've thought of a remote controlled switch after day 2 of living here. After a silly 'argument' with my 3 year old one day...yes, I tried to con her into turning off the fan so I didn't have to endure the cold...worst mom ever, I know. After she declined my request repeatedly, it finally hit me 'they make remote control switches! I spent about 30 minutes browsing through reviews of different switches, I finally saw a post for this one where someone had actually bought it specifically for a ceiling fan and that he loved it. I heard angels sing, saw a brighter glow on my iPhone screen as if God himself was telling me to add it to my cart. I'm not one to ignore the man up stairs, so I bought it.The switch came in today, and I had it installed within 10 minutes. I flipped the breaker on and had so much fun walking around the room turning the fan on and off that NOW my daughter wants in on the action. I allowed her a few clicks before I demanded MY new toy back. It's been 8 hours and I'm still smiling when I see those pretty blue LED lights go. I can't wait fort husband to get home so I can brag about the switches awesomeness! :)

Well-built switch from a good company.
I bought this wall switch in order to upgrade the remote halogen light and carriage lamp system on my freestanding garage. Presently I'm using theSkylinkHome MR-318 Remote Controllable Wireless Lighting Wire-In On/Off Module Light Receiver, but power surges have been destroying those units after approximately one year of trouble-free operation. It should be noted that we live in a rural location with repetitive current fluctuations on our rural power lines. I'm hoping this switch will provide an operational alternative and last longer than the control unit I have presently installed, but only time will tell. I will not be installing this switch until my last installation stops working, so I cannot comment on its operation at this time. I can say this switch seems to be substantially constructed and, at least on the surface, presents the possibility that it will be durable enough to handle the power variations that regularly occur in our area. If the switch works well, once installed, I will upgrade the rating to five stars. – Doug

Great product
It is super easy to install. It fits very nicely into a double switch electrical box. Syncing it is a as easy as 1,2,3 done. It has a signal reach of a fairly good distance of up 35 feet but keep in mind I have it going threw 3 floor. Great product recommend it if your looking for a wireless off switch.

Saved installing lots of extra wiring.
I used this switch to control outside lights on a detached garage. Set up was straight forward and receiver works well when remote is inside the house.

works great
Arrived before it was estimated, hooked up great, even tho it doesn't list it, worked fine with a sodium exterior light. Second one I've bought and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, the range is exceptional.I also bought a more 'conventional' looking remote (TC-318-1) to mount to the wall and it paired seamlessly. Now I have one to leave in my truck and one to leave mounted to the wall in the house.

Great product and I'll buy it again if the need ...
This Skylink On/Off with Remote Light Switch is the ONLY one I could find to replace a standard home light switch with a unit that came with a remote. I installed it to turn on my furnace fan which is wired to an up stairs light switch. Now I can turn my furnace fan on/off from the main floor which helps keep the house humidity and temp balanced through the day. Great product and I'll buy it again if the need arises!
