Was worried about the longevity of the wood so we gave it two coats of (food safe) butcher block stain and I'm pretty happy with it now. Have seen Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Hairy & Downy Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Red Winged Blackbirds, Grackles, House Finches, house sparrows, and starlings at it. Seed/Suet when full last 12~36hrs depending - we've a moderate-to-heavy traffic in the backyard.

I would give it a 5 but it came damaged. I didn't feel like having to go a wholefoods about 40 minutes from me to return and wait so I glued the edge of the roof back on. Advice: after placing foam on both edges of the roof, maybe wrap it twice with shrink wrap to hold the foam on so nothing breaks. Other than that mishap the item is as described and is perfect for my bird feeder stand.

Love this bird feeder. Easy to fill, the birds love it. Well made and holds up well in rain and wind. Came well packaged, easy to assemble . Fits well on top of an old tree stump. Great buy.

The house is pretty, the birds love it BUT ... Got it on April 04, the hanging line came off on April 13 and the house came down crashing! UPDATE (1 star to 5 stars): reached out to customer service who immediately sent me a replacement; perhaps mine was just defective. I'll give it another shot and update if needed. UPDATE: months later and the bird house is still standing without any issues although there were severe thunderstorms in the area with very, VERY heavy wind. The birds love it and it looks very beautiful. Yup, 5 stars it is!

The roof had a knot hole that went all the way through which would allow water straight onto the seeds. I plugged it with caulk not to happy about this since it was a present but my mom was ok with it and easier than returning. The plexiglass was loose on one side when delivered. I just barely managed to pull that out, without breaking it, to put it in right. The top opening isn't very big and has a support beam running across it which leaves a small area to pour seeds in. Over all it does look nice and is sturdy though, so I imagine my roof problems were a fluke.

Our other bird and suet feeder broke because a raccoon got into it and pulled it down, so after some research, I decided to purchase this feeder. As soon as I received this, I opened it and put suet on each side and mealworms in the center, then I hung it up...and almost instantly birds started coming. They seem to love it! The day after I hung it up there was a BAD storm...tons of wind and rain...and its still hanging up there with no damage or problems...so I definitely think it's sturdy! I haven't had anymore raccoon or squirrel issues either. I'm definitely pleased with my purchase and think it's worth the $26.99 that I paid. And the cedar smells wonderful! I highly recommend! :)

squirrels also love it but some cayenne pepper mixed with the seeds and on the suet keep them from pigging out. Previous feeders fell (literally) victim to big squirrel booty. This feeder is so sturdy and strong, I am not worried about durability. It is also easy to hose down and clean since the side panels come out! I like that both sides can hold suet as we have a lot of woodpeckers and suet loving birds in our area. super easy to set up and nothing that could be a danger to birds in site! Best feeder I've been able to find in the last 6 years

Smells like cedar .. you need a screw driver. The holes for the screws should be pre-tapped, it would make it way easier to build. I had to use a drill. All in all .. its a cute bird feeder and perfect for my birds!!! I would buy again.

I am very happy with my purchase as I was looking at various types of bird feeders and this one was the right type and the right price, and with a same day $10 off coupon, it offered good value. The feeder is very well built and today, I visited a brick and mortar store and there were similar ones at twice the price. It is very well made, the top roof lifts off so easily, easy to fill and clean. I have yet to see a bird eating at it, and quite possibly will have to add a extra bit of wood to allow larger birds a platform to perch as others have done.

Nice cedar bird feeder. Addes a dowel on each side for larger birds (but most of them now go on the platform feeder) was worried the "rope" to hang it wouldn't survive the squirrel so I added chains instead. So far so good, birds are happy, feeder is holding up well to the weather (its been outside since mid september, the roof keeps the snow out of the seeds)
