Sounds Great
Got this effect cymbal to add to my kit and i was surprised at how well it fitted into general play. Although it doesn't give any variation of sound depending on where you hit it, the sound you get is excellent, similar to the 'chick' of closing hi-hats and can be used as a great replacement when you want to change things up. You can hit it hard without it feeling at all fragile and is great for any drummer who is a fan of 'Muse' as Dom Howard uses this very cymbal in his line up and has since 2003 (2nd verse of Time Is Running Out).In conclusion, buy it, no hesitation. I hesitate to call it an effect because it wouldn't use it as sparingly as a cowbell/splash, great addition.

Loud, and does what it says it will!
It works great, and if you are looking for a trashy metal sound for a back beat, or accent, it sounds great. Sounds best with accents with snare hits.

Great percussion addition.
Ever since I heard the song "Rx Queen" by the Deftones, I've wanted a ribbon crasher. While there no guarantees that I'll ever write anything as good, it's a great alternative sound to have on my kit. As usual with Rythm Tech products, construction quality is top notch.

Great effect add on to any kit.
This product by Rythym Tech has been around for years. It gives a short fast white noise like a stack cymbal at a fraction of the price. I truly enjoy it.

What a great effect. It's pretty affordable and a very nice addition to any drum kit or precussion kit. Awesome quality.

Meh !
Alright so I got this a couple of weeks ago. You need to be careful as to where you're keeping it, otherwise it'll rust OVERNIGHT.Tone-wise, if it's not miced it sounds ...um... Cheap ?If you can afford a chopper cymbal by Sabian Vault go for it. Of course it's about 100 bucks more but you know what you're getting at least.Plus it's a pain to mount the crasher, I have a pearl mounting system for my cowbell that goes on my bass drum. The Crasher wouldn't fit on it between my rack toms, it would only work if you take out one rack tom and place it on the very edge of the bass drum. You be the judge.
