Great rack for use on a Weber Smokey Mountain
Purchased this rack to use on my 18.5" Weber Smokey Mountain charcoal smoker. My wife and I tend to eat baby back ribs fairly often, and anyone who owns the 18.5" WSM knows that a few racks of ribs can be a very tight fit on this smoker. So I decided to try a rib rack to help free up some space and allow for more racks to be smoked at once. The rack is of significantly higher quality than a previous Brinkmann brand rack that I had tried and discarded; like other reviewers have mentioned, the metal is thick and feels to be of higher quality than one would expect in a product of this price. Additionally, this rack is larger than most; end to end it is around 17" long and just perfectly fits on the top grate of my WSM. Each "slot" in the rib rack is almost 3" wide, which allows for plenty of space for smoke and heat to penetrate all sides of the ribs. This was a huge relief to see, as most other racks end up forcing you to cram the ribs together and the end result are ribs with slightly uneven smoke penetration, not to mention ribs that are very hard to baste or sauce while cooking.Aside from being used for just ribs, the rack can be turned upside down and is a great size/shape to hold a fairly large roast as well, on either a smoker or a grill. The one thing that I would caution, is that if you prefer to use baby back ribs, the rack is very tall, making shorter baby back ribs feel like they are lacking support when laid across the rack. This hasn't presented much of an issue for me when cooking them, and the taller rack is nice to have for cooking much larger spareribs or St. Louis style ribs as well. The metal has some sort of nonstick style coating, and the directions recommended that you clean it only with a sponge, not any kind of wire brush or other stiff cleaning product. I've found that the rack cleans up fairly easily; a quick 5 minute soak and some soap and water applied via a standard kitchen sponge, the rack looks good as new and is ready to be used again.Overall, I highly recommend this product.

Decent product for the price. Could benefit from a small redesign when using with large racks of ribs
This product has wider gaps than some others which is supposed to allow you to cook many styles of ribs including full slabs of pork ribs. Many products only work with smaller baby back or trimmed ribs. The long full slabs do fit in between the bars, but they hang off so much front and rear that they slump together and your meat touches.Suggested improvements:Make the entire device wider by a few inches. it will still fit most smokers and grills and will help the meat stay separated.Incorporate a center bar that spans the whole length of the rack on the bottom to give the rib racks additional support in the middle.Give the rack legs of some kind, or raise the bars slightly so that the ends of the ribs don't touch your grill grate when placed in this rack.If you generally make smaller ribs this would work very well, but for full size rib racks it could use some improvements.Having said that, the frame is sturdy, well connected and finished with a non-stick finish. Even after 4 hours my ribs didn't stick to the frame much. For the price, I have no problem recommending this product. Just keep in mind it may be challenging to use with large rib racks. Even so it probably does better than most competing products due to the wider gap in the bars.

Great for Turkey!
This rack is large and heavy and works great for roasting a turkey. I put a 13 pound turkey on this rack inside an oval roasting pan to bake it in the oven for Thanksgiving. It fit easily with a lot of room to spare. I was looking for a rack to use on my grill but this one was perfect for keeping my turkey from sitting in liquid and having a "mushy" bottom later.I first prepared the turkey by washing and drying it with paper towels. Then I rubbed a stick of room temperature unsalted butter all over, inside and out, forcing half of the stick under the skin on the breasts. Then seasoned inside with poultry seasoning and stuffed loosely with 1/2 granny apple, 1/2 onion, a carrot, and a celery stick. I also added a can of chicken broth to the roasting pan.I cooked the bird for 30 minutes uncovered at 500 degrees first, then made a tent out of foil to cover the breasts, and lowered the oven temp to 325 degrees for the remaining cooking time. I baked it until the temperature in the thigh was 180 degrees using a meat thermometer I also purchased from Amazon. This was my best turkey ever! The outside was nicely browned all over, even the bottom. The breasts were SO juicy too, and no mushy bottom. And all of those lovely globs of fat used to make gravy fell off into the bottom of the pan instead of sticking. Since nothing stuck to the rack, it was very easy to clean too. I would definitely buy this again - it is well worth the money.

Holds 3 racks of ribs or 2 4lb butts
The quality of this rack is good. It's pretty easy to clean, especially if you spray it down with PAM or some other cooking spray before hand. This rack is huge. I have a large Green Egg, and it takes up the majority of the cooking space. It could hold 6 full racks of ribs if your grill is big enough to accommodate that. I usually cut my ribs in half, then it holds 3 racks. My only complaint with that is that the roasting rack is so wide, that the ribs just kind of sit down in between the wires. If it were a little narrower then it would be perfect.I've also smoked some pork butts on this. It does a good job of holding it and making it easy to move around. I've put two 4lb butts in this rack and it held them perfectly. If you compare this to the pricier racks i've seen in stores and online, this is a good buy that will do what you want it to do at a good price.

Good quality but pay attention to the rack dimensions!
Be very aware of the dimensions of this product, I didn't pay attention. It's HUGE. NOTE: The quality is very good, however I am used to having a rib rack that holds a rack of ribs cut in half, this barely holds them because of the height and width of the rack. On my bbq I would normally place this unit with the handles facing the left and right hand side. If I do this, a full length rack of ribs is too long (can't close the lid). If you have a bbq large enough to have the handles placed front and back, a full length of ribs will fit well. If you want to use a standard smoker, full length uncut ribs are too wide. Take a look at the picture with the turkey on it for a better idea of the dimensions. If you want to cook a turkey or a roast, this is for you. I have since purchased a different rack for ribs.

Very big rack
I don’t have any complaints, but be aware that this rack is huge.
