Absolutely Brilliant!
The best trilogy I have ever read, and hope there is more to come. Mathew's story telling skills are excellent. His brilliance is unlimited. His description of events and people, his vocabulary, his smooth plot is unparalleled. It's absorbing, enthralling, and un-put-downable. Like the two prequels.

Quite good!
I could not help reading this book! The third book in the Dominika Egorova series! I had loved reading Red Sparrow. It came like a soothing tornado! Yet, I panned Palace of Treason in my Amazon review - the second book in the series. Looking back, I guess, my expectations from the second offering of the author were rather high. No wonder, I ended up facing disappointment of equal size. Before reading 'The Kremlin’s Candidate', I was prepared for a fast paced narrative with the same implausibility!I prefer this book better than the second one – because I had known what to expect. Again, what I liked the most is author’s knowledge of post cold war spying game that he uses well to pitch CIA against Russia’s intelligence service. The author seems to have done extensive research to understand use of technology to meet challenges of modern spying. His description of political realities of Russia is frightening. He uses this knowledge well to portray how lessons learned from Stalin era are used, with a degree of sophistication, to take care of oligarchs, dissidents and journalist going beyond a tolerable limit. The author writes with a degree of economy. Scenarios are crisp. Descriptions of places, personalities, landscapes and atmosphere is to the point. The reader is treated with some oriental flavour – quite absorbing part of the book when the action shifts to Macao and Hong Kong. I imagine that writing a screen play should not be too difficult. I wonder if we can expect a sequel to Red Sparrow!A word of caution, if you expect a story having slow burning action, well constructed characters displaying human frailties, this is not the author for you. Forget access to character’s inner world of thoughts, feeling, memories, triumphs and regrets. I would place him in the league of someone like Daniel Silva. Dominika, the lead character, seems to have steel+++ nerves. It is unbelievable that she can be so cool and composed in the face of complex situations that would be emotionally challenging, regardless of how well trained she is! The author uses acronyms by the dozens! But, without being too bothered about letting the reader know the full form first - quite irritating indeed! It's a good read if you want to relax with something that keeps you hooked after a hard day's work.

Disappointed
Very disappointed with the book. It started of nicely, but down the line it appears the author got frustrated with CIA and projected it particularly in a bad light. Ending also was not great. Very disappointed

Disappointed reading
This book is all about demonising Russia and president Putin in particular It also boasts about how the C I A is superior to the S V R and F S B To sum it up it is all about American propaganda

A Gripping Thriller
I'm thrilled to share my experience with The Kremlin's Candidate, the final installment of the Red Sparrow trilogy. As a fan of espionage thrillers, I was hooked from the very first page. The Kremlin's Candidate is a masterclass in storytelling, with a complex and intricate plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The author's writing is superb, with vivid descriptions and well-developed characters that leap off the page. What I love most about this book is how it expertly weaves together themes of politics, espionage, and betrayal. The story is full of twists and turns, with surprises at every corner. The characters are multidimensional and nuanced, with motivations that are both relatable and terrifying. The Kremlin's Candidate is a fitting conclusion to the Red Sparrow trilogy, and I was satisfied with the way the story wrapped up. The author's research is impeccable, and the attention to detail is stunning. I'm so impressed with the quality of this book, and I can tell it will stay with me for a long time. The Kremlin's Candidate is a must-read for fans of espionage thrillers, and I highly recommend it. **Pros:** * Gripping and suspenseful plot with plenty of twists and turns * Well-developed and nuanced characters * Expertly researched and detailed * Fitting conclusion to the Red Sparrow trilogy * A must-read for fans of espionage thrillers **Cons:** None! I hope this review helps others discover the benefits of this amazing book!

Red sparrow, palace of treasons and kremlin candidate
