Quick Detach is a lie - Decent light regardless
I bought this light for my Springfield XD model 9102 (4 inch barrel in .40 caliber). When I first tried to attach it, I figured I had made a mistake - "This thing is way too tight, it must be the wrong size." After verifying that the light is supposed to fit onto my rail, I tried again, with a little more force. It slid on tightly, and eventually clicked into place, although I estimate it took 35 to 40 pounds of force to do it. The release switch also has a tendency to pinch you when you try to remove the light, since it requires so much force. I have no doubts that it will stay attached during firing, although I do doubt that I could easily remove the light under stress.I had no problems with it turning on by itself when I set my pistol on its right side, although the switch does depress halfway. I have not fired any rounds through the gun since the light arrived, and I will update this review if it breaks while firing. Again, my only complaint is that it is truly hard to install and remove, although this might get easier with time, and who knows, maybe it will turn out to be an advantage.UPDATE: shot 200 rounds with the light attached and it remained solidly in place throughout, although I did test it halfway in and it failed to turn on. The lightbulb part itself came slightly loose with firing, and a small tightening turn fixed it up. Worked for the rest of the range session. Make sure it is screwed on very very tightly in the first place and there should be no problems.UPDATE 2: This light is still going strong after a year. It will usually remain functioning for about 75 rounds of fire, until the .40 cal recoil will shake it loose enough to turn the light off. I really like this light, and I would buy another if I could.

Amazing piece of equipment for the money! Great on real Walther PPQ firearm!
I was shopping for a pistol light attachment for my Walther PPQ that had a Quick attachment/detachment feature for when things go bump in the night and I wanted to be able to see what I am aiming my gun at. I really did not want to break the bank so I looked around on Ebay and Amazon. Since this was not going to be for heavy use I was okay with paying a little less and getting something not name brand. For $35.00 I was expecting a cheap, not very bright light that would not hold up to the recoil of firing and go out after the first shot with a flimsy QD that would probably be loose. I was EXTREMELY surprised when I got the product how heavy the construction was, it seems to be very sturdy but not too heavy, and it is extremely bright! I have a SureFire and it is 500 lumens and it is brighter but not by too much, it is for my AR so it does have a lot more range at night as that is what it was made for. My friend has a 300 lumen Sure Fire an it is equally as bright as my $35 knock off, which was quite impressive. the button for the QD is easy to press down and when it locks into place there is absolutely NO wiggle room, in fact some other users have had issues with it being too tight and hard to take off, but it is perfect for me. All that does not matter if it cannot stand the violent action of firing, so today I took it to the range and ran three magazines through it. I am extremely accurate with my new Walther PPQ and it did not effect my shooting whatsoever, in fact the little extra weight helped with the muzzle rise a bit. If you have a full steel pistol it may bug you, but this is true with any pistol light. I never write positive review about something unless I truly like it, and this is a great product, I may get another one for backup to use with my other pistols.-Hu

Got tools? Fits a Sig.
I got this for my P229 based on reviews. I knew full well it likely wouldn't fit but I didn't know how close it would be... very very close. The corners on the frame above the rear of the rail are just barely too forward to allow for positive lock on the rail. The housing of the light is tough enough to avoid scratching and dents but maliable enough to manipulate with about $10 worth of tools. About ten minutes with some jewelry clippers and a grinder bit on the drill and it's a perfect fit. Only about 1/8'' square off the back top corner of the trigger guard shell, adding some appliance paint to cover up the scratching and an untrained eye won't even notice that work was done. After the work was done the light fit flush with the trigger guard and hangs about an inch off the muzzle. No more than any other super-compact light, but the flush fit is a lot more visually appealing than the gap that comes with other compact micro-lights.Still a little snug sliding it on, I might sand out the railing a little bit to make it easier to slide on and off but otherwise a snug fit. Might pinch a little on the locking mechanism, not great for quick application and removal in the dark. Very tough light, very bright, efficient and intuitive on/off switch. Made for an excellent cost effective replacement for the $20 piece of crap I had on my home defense weapon before.

Great light for the price
First of all, this is a basic light. If you are looking for something more, look elsewhere. It does not have a momentary on, nor does it have a strobe feature. It lights up, that is allI bought this light for my home defense weapon. Glock 22. Whether it is really 200 lumens or not, can't tell. I can tell you that it lights up any room that is dark. It is fitted snug on my weapon. Matter of fact, after fitting it on, and with a full mag on the weapon, I held it on the light only and shook it a few times. It held in place. Light comes on when I need it to, turns off when I turn it off. 50rds through the gun and it still works. Time will tell in the long run, but at less than $40, if I can get another 300rds out of it or 1yr of use, I am ahead. If you don't expect this to function as a Surefire this will be a great value to you. This is a flashlight that mounts on your gun. Nothing more, nothing less. It works. It is inexpensive. Unless you are in a SWAT team or going to IRAQ, this light should be enough for you.
