Great for dog ear hair
These non-locking hemostats are the only safe option for plucking dog ear hair. They are small enough to get into small dog ears but large enough that I use them on a large dog as well. I was using these in a professional grooming shop and really like them so I bought a pair for my own dogs. Highly recommended if you need anything for poodles or other dog breeds with ear hair.

Definitely workable
These are non-racheting and work really well to comfortably pull hair from doggie's ears. They close pretty tight, but you need ear powder to make these really grip. They feel a little loose, so I deducted 1 star, but they absolutely do the job. They are a good size and comfortable thickness for my small hands. The pair they had at work racheted and every time I got a good grip on the hair, they would rachet & then get caught on my thumb and forefinger. Don't ask me how I couldn't make them work, but they were so thin that it hurt my hand. These were much easier to use.

Easier to control and no need to lock for a good grip like a hemostat.
This is my second pair of these. My first one went missing after my daughter used it for a science project,so I had to give in and order a new one. These are the best when it comes to pulling the hair out of my Mini Poodle/Lhasa apso's ears. He tends to be prone to ear infections and I have to be vigilant in keeping his ears clean. I originally had a pair of regular locking hemostats, but I found them to be hard to control because they are so long and you need to lock them to get a good grip. This mini-stat is only about 3-4 inches long and are much easier to control and they don't lock like hemostats. You just close the mini-stat like a scissors with your two fingers and pull. The grip is tight and pulls the hair right out. It's that simple.

Very useful tool.
I’m glad I ran into this product while browsing dog ear mites issues. It is important to pluck dogs’ ears to keep them clean and healthy. Who knew?! But it helps to eliminate trapped moisture that creates the perfect environment for ear mites. I use a special dog ear powder in a dog’s ear before starting pulling hair with this device. It’s doesn’t hurt a puppy and it’s effective. It makes keeping the puppies clean and healthy. Thank you!

Great Tool!
My boy (labradoodle) has the hairiest ears that get nasty dirty and horribly stinky and knotted. I wanted to pluck his ears, but was afraid of using long a hemostat - going too deep in his ears or him moving and ending up with an instrument pierced into his brain. These are the perfect size and the size gives the control I wanted. The hemostat grips fine hairs incredibly well.

Wonderfully Effective
Wonderful product. I used these to clean my dog's ears with excellent results. The thumb-grips work for both left and right-handed users, and the tips are rounded so that you don't risk nicking your dog's sensitive inner ears with anything sharp. I have small hands, and while they did slip down to the base of my thumb a couple of times, they weren't uncomfortable. The grips are wonderful and grabbing and gently pulling out sensitive ear hair. I would highly recommend using these in conjunction with the following product, as my dog experienced zero pain during the procedure: R-7 Ear Powder 12 GM The mini-version is 3.75" long (from tip to base of handle), and the holes in the grip have a 1" diameter.
