Electricity Markets: Pricing, Structures and Economics

This is the third book on the markets I have purchased, but actually kept this one. Most books tend to focus on market rules via a statistical approach. This book explains the markets rather than assuming the reader knows them. Very dull read, but very informative.

I had to get this book for a class I am taking. It is heavy reading making it a total slog to work through. It really is geared toward someone with more exposure to electrical markets and how they work for it to deliver. The writer is also obviously working more from a europeon viewpoint an background which shows up in the voice of the book. Not a ding, but it does tend to wander back to the sector on that side of the pond in discussions.

This book contains very good information on electricity basics and power generation.It's a good source of information when you are discovering for the first time the electricity market.

The book described above meet my expectations. Overall, is a nice book, easy to read and follow.

Strongly disagree with other review, I am an energy trader and own both books and found this book much more helpful for understanding the electricity market.

Even if you aren't new to electricity, you will find Harris' writing style a bit too technical to keep your interest for very long. Would recommend that stick with the more interestingly written books and technical papers by Eydeland & Wolyniec.

Very good book

This book have many practices examples, and the way it's explained is easy to understand. It's recommendable and offers to others students who's looking this kind of books.
