I am a "General Reader".This textbook gives tremendous insights on what proteins, DNA, RNA, enzymes, carbohydrates, lipids, fats, cholesterol, glucose, insulin, metabolism are and how they work.Text is filled with real life examples such as alcool metabolism, insulin regulation and much more.This text just puts all the pieces of the metabolism puzzle together.Amazing!

As a textbook, it's a fine introduction to a large field

Great book, after reading sections online I realised it’s a great book, worth spending the money on, a pleasure to use for my studies.

The book itself is incredibly impressive, I struggle to think of many other works that explain complex ideas so well, the issue arises with macmillian learning and the sapling plus integration, you don't get all the chapters of the book, 3 are 'online only' and you have to pay more to get access to these, you can buy a version off macmillann directly that comes with the access card to get the three chapters, but it adds an extra £30ish to the final cost, as far as I can tell this is a move exclusively aimed at making textbook resale harder, I understand why they want to do this but I quite frankly find it disgusting, I buy the physical book because I want to read it, if I wanted the ebook I'd just buy the ebook version, I'd rather they just charge slightly more and didn't resort to tactics that damage the reading experience, especially when the book itself is hardly cheap to begin with.

Very poor packing. They didnt even bother to put a waterproof wrap or proper seal. I was lucky it dint rain those days, All the 4 edges were torn and wide open and the edges of the hard cover damaged. The paper quality, font size were far better than this new edition.Speaking about the book printing and paper quality. The text size is too small and so it looks very crowdy. I have had an older edition bought in 2006 ( gave it away to a friend who needed it for her future studies) of this book, that seemed far better .I am not a student, but i like casual reading, and the book didnt impress me look and texture wise.But ofcourse the book contents are incomparable, so thats the reason why i give 3 stars.

Received the textbook yesterday. Book is purportedly a new piece, but arrived with a big sticky black stain on the cover, torn top spine and damaged bottom joints. Very disappointed. Paid so much for a new book but received one in used condition.

Book arrived (eventually), daughter happy as needs it for uni.

Good book for life science

Das Buch war ein Geschenk für eine Freundin die Bio-Chemie studiert. Sie freute sich sehr und meinte da steht alles drin was man für dieses Fach braucht.

最近、第8版の日本語翻訳が出たばかりなのに、第9版として大幅に統合され、最新の進歩が加えられた。This version is the newest 9th edition including good advanced items recently released.Many parts were updated and more integrative expression from eighth edition whose Japanese translation released only recently.Many recent important results were included to change the fundamental conceptual changes in life science due to the great advancement of new technology in genome sciences, cell biology and structural biology with new medicinal aspects.

This book is so wonderful and I enjoy the book content a lot.
