ICE-WATCHICE dune Admiral blue - Men's wristwatch with silicon strap - Chrono - 014218 (Large)

Bold, funky statement watch - but far too large for me
I really don't understand the way in which Ice Watch unisex watches are marketed on Amazon: there's simply not anything about this design to suggest it should be a women's rather than a men's watch. Indeed, on me the watch casing for this large size is simply too large: it's wider than my wrist so I can't do this up in a way that stops it from slipping. This fits my brother admirably, however. I've found Amazon's presentation of the Ice Watch brand's sizing so perplexing that I decided to investigate the manufacturers' own site in search of clarification. On the official Ice Watch website, I found a sizing guide. If in doubt, this is really useful as it lets you print real size paper versions of the Ice Watch range to check for fit before you buy.The watch arrives in an Ice brand cardboard carton that contains a nice - and unusual - presentation box. This is made of durable-feeling plastic and has a vibe that's somewhere between an ice cube and an individual Lego brick. There's a knack to opening this presentation box that isn't immediately apparent - you need to squeeze gently on the clear sides of the case, and then the two layers separate. The watch itself is lovely. The wide silicone strap feels smooth and comfortable. The dial is clearly labelled, and the function knobs easy to use. The colour is bright and vibrant, and the plastic edge to the watch case is a see-through blue that's really attractive. A simultaneously smart and sporty looking watch. A two year warranty is included.I've awarded this a slightly mean 4 stars as it's a really good watch, but it is huge - had I bought this instead of receiving it to review, I would have needed to return it for a smaller size.

Useless chrono function - pointless motley design - dust magnet strap - poor lume, and it's cheap plastic and looks it
This is junk basically junk. The watch is packaged in a plastic box, which slides out to reveal this plastic and silicon 'chronograph'.This watch is purely style over anything else - but why anyone would want to wear a bright blue watch which looks like a slab of plastic is beyond me - but each to their own, so let me stick to the particulars of this as a timepiece. The case is plastic - and by that I mean the case sides are of a blue perspex type block - with a stainless steel caseback. The dial has 'mercedes' lumed hands - lume strength is so so. The arabic numerals aren't lumed and nor are the 'chrono' dials - which are very tiny and hard to read. The (translucent plastic) bezel turns - jerks along at approx 60 clicks - and has a lume pip at 12 o clock. The pushers and crown seem to be screw down - but screwing whither which way they just kept on turning. The crown can be pulled out 1 step to change the date - and 2 steps out to change the time. The strap which ICE watch keeps going on about IS soft, and comfortable, but it's silicon - which means it's a dust magnet .Now, the watch is Quartz and the second hand ticks away - but I tried to read the manual (a small square booklet) as to how the chrono function on this watch works - now I'm familiar with chronographs and love them - I have a couple of Seiko Quartz Chronographs, a Citizen Chrono, a Seiko Auto 'Pogue' - a Breguet Type XX, an Omega Speedmaster Mk II and a Sinn 356 - and chronographs work the same way - whether Quartz or mechanical - push the top button to start - again to stop - and bottom to reset - and other combinations whether it's a 'flyback' or not - now this I couldn't work out - pressing the button did nothing - pressing and holding made the small dial hand move - same with the bottom pusher - so to conclude it doesn't work, or doesn't work as it's supposed to - in other words absolutely useless.I played with it again - trying the pushers again and again - and I got it to work - but it has a ind of it's own - which makes it useless and a waste.Anyway the manual is so small and the writing so minute that I tossed it aside - it's in several languages and confusing. The watch wears BIG - I havve 7.5" wrists and still it looks huge - it's because it's big and bold - and with large big watches going out of fashion - no idea why ICE decided to release this fashion watch in such a large bold size.Overall it's junk - a useless chrono function - dive watch elements which are again useless and pointless - a dust magnet strap - poor lume, and it's plastic and looks plastic. So buy if you want to walk around with a kinder surprise blue plastic watch on your wrist - avoid if you value taste, style, form and function - as this is simply void of these things. You can pick up a similar styled watch for a few quid down the market - or if you want something of decent quality - pay less and get a Seiko 5, Pulsar, Accurist etc with functions that actually work.If you want a big blue bold watch - in plastic - get a G Shock - avoid this piece of crap.Mine was a free review item - this is overpriced tat and I wouldn't buy this item.

Husband likes it and I like the colour
I have seen some of the negative reviews and I can see where they are coming from, however, my husband really likes this watch - it is a lovely blue colour, good sized for a man and for the price, is a decent enough watch. He wouldn't wear it for diving, or to work, but with a pair of jeans for knocking about the house etc it fits the bill perfectly. I really like the colour and was tempted to pinch it, but it is too big for my wrist.I think the glow in the dark element could be a lot better, but other than that, it tells the time and it looks bright and cheery.

Chunky and funky
This is a nice chunky, funky looking watch in a bright blue. The silicon strap is comfortable to wear but far too big for me, if I’d paid for this then I would have had to return it because of this factor. I had a little trouble removing it from its ‘ice cube’ type box but then I discovered that if you squeeze the sides it opens up. The dial is large (I don’t need my specs on to read it) and bright. Only 4 stars I’m afraid due to the size of and inability to alter the strap but this would be ideal for someone with a chunkier wrist.
