Unique disconnect
I bought it as an alternative to the traditional knob on top battery disconnect that I've used for years on my other classic cars. This was different so why not on my new project, well it is no more. My downpipe touched the ministarters positive contact creating a dead short. Luckily I had the disconnect, when it made contact the lug that the battery cable attaches to blew off stopping any further damage. Fixed the problem and unfortunately had to deep six the disconnect. It did it's job and then some.

Keeps my battery from dying on rarely used truck
I saw these things in car magazines, and they really work. I have a truck I don't drive much, and I have to continually recharge the battery. After installing this beauty, no more. Months later it'll start right up. The fact that it can be used as a theft deterrent was an extra value I'd never thought of. If parking outside overnight in Atlanta, you can bet I'll unplug the battery with a twist of the wrist. Very easy to install. Make sure you order the right size. Thanks !!

Shut-off knob easily comes loose
I would not recommend this product for people with weak fingers... I had to use a pliers to tighten black shut-off knob, so I wouldn't have to worry about it shaking loose. That means when I want to disconnect the battery with this product, I have to use the pliers to loosen it. Not exactly user friendly. Also, the adjustment that positions the terminal for the car connections moves each time the knob is loosened, having to reposition it each time. If I ever have to use it in the dark this will be problematic. My intended use is to shut the battery off in my all-electric Kia, so the 12 volt battery doesn't drain when I'm car camping. In all-electric cars, the key fob that unlocks the doors (or my iPhone) will drain the battery, so being anywhere near, or inside the car with the key fob makes the 12 volt battery drain...

Unstable disconnect
This disconnect switch would be fine for a vehicle that has no vibration or is at rest the three piece unit is held together by the knob[one of the pieces] with a nylon insulator during a bumpy ride with the disconnect open or loosened the corners of the screw style disconnect can touch bypass the nylon insulator and turn on for a second then resume it’s open, returned for a more stable open on my tow vehicle the one I purchase now is maid in USA sold by Amazon two of the three pieces are pressed together and insulated so when the knob is lose no mater how much vibration the brass knob ( thread shaft disconnect) doesn’t touch any other part that would causing a momentary connection I Guess if ther is now vibration / movement it would ok to use

Make sure they're tight
Work well on my dual battery setup. I can imagine times I'd need to rapidly disconnect batteries, and so I fitted this to both. I had charging issues, which I realized were due to not tightening this enough - tricky in the confined space I have. Make sure it's right, and it works very well.
