Electrical Daylight Energy Saving 27W Floor Standing Reading Lamp Light

Very bright light but downward position prevents dazzling. Ideal for handicraft if the light is dim elsewhere. Switch off after prolonged use, the bulb does get hot. When assembling make sure the light is facing in the right position, if, like me you don't read all the instructions you will have to start again!Replacement bulbs are available and the price is exceptionally fair for the sturdiness of the lamp. Looks a little like the triffids have landed but at £29.99 who cares!

This the second one of these I have bought, the original is still going strong with the original lamp tube. The only negative is that after 7 years the plastic flexible cover on the neck of the lamp has hardened and cracked, but I taped it with grey electrical insulation tape, quite safe and does the job, it just doesn't look as nice.

Most useful for me. To read on an overcast day. Easy to use and very bright.

I have been assembling stuff for well over half a century and as an engineer, consider myself more than capable of putting things together correctly. I hate trying to decipher multi-lingual (er, I mean wordless cartoon strips) so only refer to them when needed.This lamp went together well but then I found a black rubber bung remained. The instructions are unclear on this point. and I can only guess that the bung is fitted in the very bottom of the vertical tube to protect the wires from chafing. I have yet to disassemble the lamp to check out my theory.The light is brilliant, a very Daylight shade of white different to other light sources.My only suggestion is that a dimmer should be included because I find the light a little too bright at close quarters.Overall, this lamp is of excellent design and manufacturing quality and also offers incredible value for money.

The Oypla Floor Lamp was very well packed, with polystyrene protecting the parts. After opening the box, it only took 5 minutes to put it together and switch it on. I had read the instructions beforehand from a reviewer's photo, so I knew what to do.The bulb was already fitted, and the cable already threaded through the poles. Whilst screwing the poles together, the electrical connectors at the end of the cable popped out of the end of the bottom pole, ready for clipping to the base.The light produced is bright and really white (not yellowish), so great for reading or detailed craft activities at a desk. The base is smallish, but is heavy enough to be reasonably stable. With a light knock against the top of the lamp it will wobble a bit before returning to the centre, though a heavy knock could make it fall over (the tipping point sideways is about 15 degrees, measured with a spirit level).The build quality and design are excellent and overall the lamp is better than I expected for the price.

Very bright, helping a relative with poor eyesight to read and crochet etc.

All outside materials are metal. Should be nice and sturdy. Unfortunately the inside part that screws to the base is plastic ! This means is cracks and breaks easily making the lamp unusable as it cannot stand up. I had a different make for years and this is why I bought (what I thought) was the same lamp. They are identical in every other way except this. Now trying to find one with a better build quality as I know the actual lighting is perfect
