works well if you do it right
Some of the complaints on here are really weird, which makes me wonder if people know what they're doing, or if they're thinking that this is a different product than it is. I've used this now just fill multiple cracks, even big deep cracks as wide as my finger, and the only "trick" is that you need to back it with something if you have anything more than superficial cracks. I've been using foam rods that I wedge down in there, but there are various things you can back it with if you look around. If you don't back it, you're going to waste tube after tube of it trying to fill a crack, and it's just not going to be a good fill. Back it well, sweep out any loose dirt, and then squeeze a good amount, you want to stick the tip down in there and then fill it so that it is mounded slightly up above the level of the driveway, and then just keep going until you finish the whole crack, and when you come back, it should have settled slightly and you just scrape a putty knife across it and call it a day. one box should fill 3-4 deep cracks that run the width of a driveway, if you do this. The only downside that I've seen is that if it happens to rain within a day or two of doing it and the water stands on top of it for too long, it will discolor to a brownish color. it doesn't seem to affect the bond in any way, and if it bugs you, you can just skim a thin fresh layer of it back over it with a putty knife to fix it

Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway
Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure: sealing when the crack first appears prevents dirt getting in there, weeds sprouting, and damage when water oozes in and freezes (widening the damage). I also wanted to stop ants from making their homes in the cracks and then coming into the garage, which has been "bugging" me for two years since I moved in. Works like a charm, although it can be messy. First, clean out the crack or holes and use your dustbuster to vac out any grit remaining. Cut an angled piece out of the tip then slowly pump the caulk gun. Have a cloth or board ready when the material comes out to avoid waste and mess. I used a small putty knife to carefully apply and smooth out the gooey tar-like stuff. When the weather is hot, drying doesn't take long, but I picked a long weekend when we would not be driving over the repairs. Cleans up with mineral spirits. Avoid getting on your clothes or shoes! I am ordering a second tube for future repairs. Good stuff, and beats buying a five-gallon bucket of tar.

better than the liquid stuff
This works pretty good for filling cracks, but you are limited in where you can use it. If the crack is small, this stuff is too thick to go into the crack, and you end up just covering the top (which isn't good). And if the crack is too big, you can empty a whole tube of this stuff in no time, so this can get very expensive if you have a large driveway.

Easy to use, works very well!
Before dealing my driveway I wanted to seal in some of the cracks. I like the ability to directly inject the sealer into the cracks for a positive seal. I set the tubes out in the sun to "warm" them up and make the sealer flow into the cracks easier. They worked better than the stuff I got at Lowes years ago. I left the product sit for a few days then applied the top coat sealer over my driveway and over the Crack Sealer which in combination is working great! Several rain showers and I can clearly see the product works!

Need more than I expected, but easy to handle and work with, seems to be of good quality
The tube says 55 feet with a 3/8" bead, I figure I got about half that. Like the other reviewers, I'm going to need more than I expected, but if it works, I'll be happy. This is in a caulk tube, but has a slight texture, like a fine cream of wheat, versus a smooth pudding, if that makes sense. I wore old clothes, just in case, but it was easy to handle and work with, once I pierced the top and got it started. I got a metal putty knife at the dollar store, and I won't worry about cleaning it when I'm done.

Easy Small Crack Solution
I liked the fact it's thick as apposed to runny liquids. I used a putty knife and forced into deeper cracks. I also used the putty knife to completely smooth the Red Devil. Works like a charm. I used WD40 to clean up my tools. 👍

Works well and lasts a long time.
This material is thick and therefore not easy to get out of the caulking gun (make sure you puncture the seal before you start squeezing!) My method is this: I use about a 3rd of the tube with the caulking gun and then cut it open and use a trowel to fill and even off the material. Good quality; lasts a long time on my driveway. My advice is to fill in the crack and go over about 1/2 inch on each side.

Applicator Tube Is Terrible, But The Sealant Works Great
This stuff is amazing. Used it to patch several holes on my garage roof until we can get it patched next spring. However, the applicator tube is a nightmare. I cut the nozzle tip and poked a hole in the foil, luckily I knew to do this because nowhere on the label does it say to puncture the foil. After triggering multiple times nothing came out the end except a thin string the size of the nail I used to puncture, so I backed the rod out and inspected. The thin tin cup on the back had blown tar out the sides and was just freely sinking into the tube without dispensing anything. There was tar loaded all up I inside the gun. I had to pull the cap out with pliers, recenter it and try again with 1/4 of the tube wasted. Even then, to get this stuff to dispense I had to squeeze with all my strength and even put my shoulder into the rod to help push it. The material itself is great, worked like a charm for the patch. But the dispenser is complete garbage.

It is durable. However, you need to use the whole tube in one time. I used the plastic film to air-seal the tip after using half of it and the rest got dry out in 2-3 days anyway, different from other silicon seal..

We bought this from Amazon.ca for use in Canada at the start of spring when it is still below 0C - it says it is for water and frost but the tube says don't use it below 5C. We had to go buy other stuff as this product might work but we can't currently speak to that as it is too cold.
