Good build quality and protection but very irritating in use. Not as good as I expected.
Build quality, materials and protection to the iPad are all excellent and worthy of 5 stars. The way the pencil is held in place is also good. Access to the screen is also good. But with regret, overall I can only give 3 stars and am returning the cover for a refund. The reasons are that in use, or rather the way I use my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen, I find the case increasingly frustrating. As I use the iPad all the time, these practical issues have become very irritating. The main issues are:1. The opening part of the cover is made of 3 parts that then fold to create the support. This means that when you open the case, the opening part is larger than the iPad itself and flops all over the place. Then it’s confusing to know how to fold it to use as a stand. When I’m sitting on the sofa in the evening, this is a real pain and I keep getting it the wrong way round. Irritating.2. The opening for the usb connector is too small for larger usb plugs...not a big deal but it means some won’t plug in without jiggling around.3. The auto lock action doesn’t work reliably so when the cover is closed you can’t be sure that the iPad is off. This seems to be for two reasons (1) the case cover sits over the rubber edge protection so the part of the cover with the switching magnet is held too far away from the screen to operate and (2) because the cover flaps around so much, when it closes the magnet isn’t necessarily in the right place. The auto off works about 3 times in 10 so is too unreliable to trust.4. The flap that holds the cover closed by wrapping over the pencil really gets in the way when the iPad is held with the flap towards the user5. The cover folds into a shape that allows the iPad to be viewed at only two angles, high and low. The high angle orientates the iPad correctly ie with the pencil at the top. But to use the lower angle, the iPad has to be revolved so that the pencil is at the bottom. That of course makes it more awkward to access the pencil...but also puts the usb connector on the other side which if using peripherals means that everything has to be moved from one side to the other. It’s a pain.So although there’s lots to like about this cover, unfortunately in practice the above has got more and more irritating. I’ve used the cover for about a week and it seemed OK to start with as I could put the irritations down to getting used to it, but as the days have passed it has become more of a pain...especially as this is not cheap. So sadly a return. Armed with the above experience now, I’ve changed to the Zugu case which is about the same price but has a single piece cover. It seems to answer all the above issues...perhaps not quite as pretty, but that’s a small price to pay really for better user experience.Hope this helps.

Highly recommended product and will certainly return
I love this product. Certainly made to measure for my IPad Pro 2018 with all the cut outs in the exact place for charging and volume buttons etc. No pulling back the rim to get them fitted in. Very very study and good apple pen holder for charging as well. Doubt I will want another one just yet but if I do will certainly return and I highly recommend this product. It’s expensive compared to other covers but this is a hard wearing tough protective item.

Ok but pricey and poor fit for charging!
Feels nice and looks nice. I’m sure it offers good protection for the IPad, I’ll take that as a given because I won’t be throwing it around any time soon. It was very tight squeezing the iPad into it but I’d rather that than too loose. Biggest gripe is that it’s difficult to get the Apple charging lead in, if your not careful it will not charge when you think it should be. The case stops the charging plug from engaging correctly, it can be over come by prizing the case up a little near the charging port.

Definitely NOT ‘featherweight’.....
Bought this to replace a case/cover that I already own which I thought to be quite heavy for what it is, so the main reason for this purchase was that its advertised as ‘featherlight’ which it certainly is not. It seems to be fairly robust; can’t speak about durability as I’ve only had it a few weeks. Not worth the money if you’re buying it expecting it to be ‘feathweight’.

bulky and a flawed design
This case is bulky as you'd expect from a UAG product which is not an issue by itself. However the screen protection part of the case is non detachable and flaps about in use, particularly with the larger iPad Pro. I found this design quite frustrating as the screen part of the case should be removable to use the tablet unobtrusively.

Doesn't fit
Like other reviewers I could not get my iPad to fit. I spent over 30 minutes trying to squeeze my ipad in. Its just ever-so-slightly too small, and the plastic is hard so difficult to get it in. I returned it and they sent me a replacement - same problem!

Great buy!
Love this case! Yes it is expensive but I love my new iPad Pro and so really wanted to protect it! This gives me peace of mind, I also like that I can use the folding cover to stand the iPad on my legs when I’m sat!I’ve recently started using an Apple Pencil and like that this cover caters for that. Very pleased with my purchase.

Heavy weight protection.
I love it, does everything it's supposed to but it does not love screen protectors. The fit is a little too tight so it ended up peeling off my screen protector, which wasn't cheap by the way. Hoping to find a way around it. I would have given it an overall 5 rating if not for the tight fit/screen protector issue.
