The Bugatti of Lighters....is a BUGATTI!
So, anyone who knows anything about anything knows the legendary elitism of Bugatti supercars -- all made of "unobtainium" as I heard one person say -- as among the most ridiculously over the top hyper-mega-ultra one percent of the one percenters kind of buy...SO, when you see a lighter made by the same company, it definitely merits checking out!I don't know that these lighters were ever really over a hundred bucks (or if it is the trick of Invicta -- mark it up to one billion and then make it a "great buy" at less than two hundred, sort of thing) as listed at various sites, but good ole' Amazon beats even the fifty dollar pricing generally being asked, by offering it here for under thirty Washingtons. It almost feels non-exclusive to only pay around the price of a large pizza for anything with the Bugatti label, but, for those of us who would be hard pressed to even afford the AutoArt version of a Veyron, there are no complaints for the affordability of this lighter. Now, I'm not a smoker, but I do enjoy, on the very rare occasion, a decent cigar, and nothing is more awesome than a fine cigar, except a fine cigar with a really cool lighter. I got tried of dried up Zippos, got annoyed with cheap novelty blow torches, and so decided to do some research on the world's best lighters, which is how I found this one.Other brands are also highly touted (and higher priced), but when I saw that Bugatti was among the world's top fire starter makers, I was intrigued. I thought, at first, somebody somehow just stole the name. But, no, as it turns out Bugatti makes more than supercars -- and are know for making super lighters. As a huge fan of high end cars, I therefore had to get one of these, especially after reading reviews and seeing it in action in a few video reviews. So, now that it's here, what's the verdict? Let's start with the less than thrilling news, first....Overall, I'm not sure what more I expected -- maybe inlaid wood, or leather accents, or something just stupidly unnecessary and luxurious -- but the build itself is perhaps not overly awe-inspiring. I mean, I knew it wasn't advertised to have anything over the top on it, but I didn't expect it to feel a bit "cheapy," in one particular area. The action of the flip top and flip bottom (with cigar punch) feels solid, no flimsy feelings there, but the plastic grip part feels a bit....plasticy, if that's even a word. Kind of like the fake grip on a grocery store toy gun, from long ago childhood days. Just feels thin and cheap, is all I'm saying, and I didn't think I'd ever say "cheap" in the same breath as "made by Bugatti."That, however, is just part and parcel of having over-amped expectations of a product wearing a Bugatti name tag...which is why I guess too I think it would be cool if they sold it in some kind of presentation box...instead of a super tacky plastic box that looks like it came from some dusty bin at a duty-free stand at the airport. I mean, come on, it's a Bugatti! They can't even spring for a decent box??But, those very minor (and totally superficial) gripes are the ONLY aspects that didn't thrill me -- the rest is pure joy.So, the good stuff --Feels GREAT in the hand, in terms of heft and size and contour. Easily operated with either hand, one-handed, with a very pleasantly ergonomic design that leaves you feeling good about holding it and using it. I got it in the all black, so, despite the kind of cheap feeling grip area (which would be far better suited in some kind of textured leather perhaps), it retains a definite cool factor, both in how it looks, and in how it makes lighting anything just a more awesome experience -- yes, an awesome lighter can achieve that!Performance is definitely Bugatti! I researched butanes, and settled on Vector. As others have noted, it arrives empty, so make sure you have fuel on hand. The large tank takes a bit of time to fill, and you want to adjust the flames down (because it shoots a solid blast of fire when dialed up), but it fired up the very first time, and every time after. The ignition slide is SO smooth, it's incredible! I could just flip the top and light it, again and again, and waste cans of butane for days doing so!So, massively reliable, absolutely effective, which is why (since dependability is a main reason of why I bought it) I am staying at five stars, despite the small twinge of disappointment in the grip material. The added cigar punch, which is VERY sharp, is a terrific feature since, especially as a very occasional cigar guy, I very often leave my punch somewhere other than where I need it, and nothing is worse than arriving at that great moment and not having the required equipment! So, it's very nice having a punch built in, and it's a perfect size, at least for my needs. The build does appear very durable, and both the top and bottom flip-outs look and feel like they will last a very long time. The fire jets are truly spectacular, and converge to make a very heated ignition area. The tank seems decently large, so, although I have yet to test it, long term, I am thinking it won't need a refill constantly, which is an added convenience.Bottom line, having tried a lot of lighters off and on over the years, including some much more expensive than this, I feel very satisfied with this buy, and based on the brilliant performance and mechanics of it, I can definitely agree that Bugatti makes a world class lighter. In fact, I now want to check on the other models that Bugatti sells, all of which are very highly reviewed online. So, they've mastered supercars, and seemingly very nearly mastered lighters -- can't wait to see what Bugatti does next!A product worth far more than the asking price here, and I DEFINITELY and HIGHLY recommend it!

A Reliable Lighter
The Bugatti CEO is a good lighter if you want a no muss-no fuss fire spitter that toasts your stogie in challenging wind better than others. The only cons however is the screw you turn to adjust flame strips easily and it guzzles fuel. Other than that, it's quite reliable and you won't be disappointed unless you're one of those types who doesn't like a manual lid.

Unreliable lighter, better options available
With approximately 2 weeks of use, this lighter would not produce a reliable flame. Purged the air from the lighter, used several types of butane, even took the lighter to my local cigar lounges for help. To no avail, this thing would not produce a reliable flame, I often resorted to matches as a backup plan. Severely disappointed with this product, a waste of $20 or $30, whatever was spent on this item. Maybe I received a defective unit, but it resides in the trash now. I didn't bother returning it, just moved on. Recently ordered a Jetline super torch, which has a worse aesthetic compared to the Bugatti model, but it worked perfectly out of box.

Good lighter but temperamental
Good lighter when it works well but often clogs and is extremely sensitive to cold weather. Decent value but not as reliable as other Bugatti models I have owned

Great!!!!
As a collector of cigar torch lighters, I've found this lighter to be very dependable and everything you would want in a torch. After using this lighter for over a month now, I've completely turned around from my first impressions. If you want a great lighter that works everytime, this is it....

Works great!
Works great, but could use a bigger fuel tank and the lid should automatically open when lighting it. You can light about 6 cigars before you'll need to refill, which can be a problem in a group setting with multiple people using it.
