Much more than a training guide
I have hated the gym all my adult life and it has taken me all of this year to get over myself and my made up fears. After only being in the gym a few months these fears were starting to creep back in and after speaking to my PT we changed my programme to be more weight based at the same time I came across Laura on a podcast with Ben Coober and she was saying all the things that I have been hearing in my head and more importantly she was saying how she got herself over it. Her book is amazing and her honesty is so refreshing, the Ten Commandments are now my screen cover and this week is the first time I have arrived in the gym without having to go to the loo first!!!Thank you for releasing your story Laura and I hope one day to meet you and hopefully get to train with you. Keep pushing :-)

Ok but for beginners
The book is well written and gives a good overview for beginners to fitness. It is also inspirational and Laura’s story and principles are great. But it is less helpful for women who are already training and feeling confident. I would love to see a follow up book for women already a few years into training including those qualified in fitness. I reckon this is an emerging audience that fitness books could really target and Laura would be a wonderful author for it.

Uplifiting, positive, encouraging and funny, Laura's star qualities shine through.
I started following Laura on instagram based on a recommendation. Life changing. After years of thinking I needed to punish myself with untold amounts of cardio so that I didn't "get too bulky" and lost some weight, I found myself trying out my local CrossFit gym and discovering olympic lifting. I wouldn't have got there before I started following Laura. From dispelling myths about women who lift, to generally speaking sense about body confidence, body positivity and self esteem and championing yourself Laura's book, posts and podcasts are informative, fun and inspiring. She is a great advocate of moving and finding the thing that you love, so even if you are sure that weightlifting is not for you the book is still a very worthwhile read.I am now the fittest, healthiest and happiest I have been as an adult, and Laura has played an important part in that journey through her excellent content.P.S. I even find traditional cardio more enjoyable now that I am stronger. ;)

Packed full of great information - highly entertaining
Love this book - as a 47 year old, gym enthusiast, I needed some inspiration. This book has given me this in abundance. Hopefully got the confidence to move onwards and upwards with my gym work. A great read, highly recommend for both beginners and experienced gym goers alike.

An Uplifting Journey
A easy read. A very personal account of Laura's journey to accepting and appreciating the body she has. A relatable story of shifting focus to achieve one's goals.
