This has some small and larger compartments but I purchased it to hold small items. I wanting to display my miniature minions and this works perfect for that I did have a few that are large and in the center section the work perfect. I would recommend this but only if you are displaying small items.

Looks nice on my wall. They are light weight yet sturdy enough to place your smalls.

The picture with the knick knacks inside the shadow box squares didn't look like they were only an inch or inch and a half tall... honestly the boxes were so small only 3 of my knick knacks fit in them so it was of no use to me.
