Product 'FAILURE' after 7 weeks.
After installation and opening my tailgate about twice a week for 7 weeks, the product failed and my tailgate slammed down. The anchor point had loosened up and the bolt that holds the bottom end on came completely out and will not thread back into it's original position. Unless the manufacturer can explain why such a thing would happen and provide parts to correct this issue, I will continue to advise against the purchase of this item. FYSA, it was installed precisely as the instructions provided directed for my vehicle.

Super Slow and broke within months
I installed this tailgate assist exactly as the instructions said to. The assist makes the tailgate lower so slowly that it was infuriating. I would routinely push on the tailgate to speed it up and within a few months of this the point where it attaches to the truck bent and pulled out. Waste of time and money.

Doesn't work well in cold weather.
Just received today and installed it. Instructions to install the molly bolt type incert was not very helpful, had to go too YouTube to see how to video. After watching YouTube video the rest of the instruction was fine. This is why I gave it 3 stars. I installed it in 30 degree temperature so the lowering of the tailgate is really slow so I'll retest when it works up and will update my review then.

Slow motion tailgate
First cylinder received with leaking seals. Oil leaked out in packaging. Replacement received and installed. Tailgate took 24 seconds to open after installation. That is forever when waiting to open your tailgate. Returned for refund.

doesn't work as expected... CAN'T USE!!!
easy enough to install but the shock is way too strong so the tailgate comes down to slowly to be usable...

Tail gate assist
Works really good, my friends seen it, they all bought one for their trucks. Makes tailgate so light to open, you just open tailgate and let it go, watch it drop down really slow, don’t have to worry about ever slamming down ever again. Easy to install, it tool me less than 15 minutes. Directions are very clear.

Just a bad design
This is the third time in 4 years I have had to replace this part and it just breaks again. Find another solution

Not the quality expected.
This tailgate assist is less than 9 months.I did expect it to work longer than that.There’s been no abuse.Thx. Hope this helps someone.
