PBY Catalina Flying Boat Pilot's Flight Operating Manual Paperback – May 8, 2007

My Father flew one of these in WWII. One of the "Black Cats" squadrons. In any case, this is a very detailed and informative manual for flying this aircraft.

This is the original Operating Manual for the Catalina PBY flying boat. It was declassified a long time ago. If you want a handy reference printed then this is the one to get. It's a bit bigger than a normal 8/10 page. Softbound, glossy cover. Full of useful information. I love it.If you want a printed operating manual for one of these amazing airplanes, then this is the one to get.

Excellent! Fantastic ! I wish I had my own Catalina or at least got an opportunity to fly one once. The book helps me dream. When I was young I flew gliders.

Liked the book since this is the plane my grandfather worked on in WW2

I recently bought this for my 86 year old Father and he was pleased to see it again after so many years. When in his twenties he was a Catalina Pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force, and knew this book backwards. It brought back many memories. This is a must-have for former Pilots or any organisations (at least two in Australia) displaying Catalinas or dedicated to the memory of the service given by these famous flying boats.

I have this to a friend of mine who is building a scale R/C PBY. He loved it. He said that the detail was great and it gave him a greater appreciation of what it took to fly this plane for real.

For students of WWII, a good read to round out one's knowledge of the Navy's amphibious aircraft part of the war.
