Zombies!!! The Card Game

I bought this game as it was being sold second hand and I wanted to give it a try as a fun Halloween game. The game itself is quick enough, you are given a pile of cards that you have to work your way to the bottom of by killing zombies. First player to get rid of all the cards in their pile, either by picking them up into their hand, placing them as new areas or using the special abilities on them, wins the game.Nothing difficult, nothing complicated and yet nothing particularly engaging either. It's not a bad game, but it is trying to straddle two worlds, being both a fast filler game and a more tactical game and it really doesn't work as either. It's not quick enough to be a filler game nor engrossing enough to be a more tactical game.A small note regarding the age range. I think its probably spot on at 13+. It's not for the rules so much as the rules are fairly basic but it does have some very atmospheric and violent imagery on the cards which whilst not excessive, is certainly not for young children.All in all if you get this game for a few quid 2nd hand then you might see it as a bargain but as a full priced game I feel it falls short.
