I needed a convenient way to re-use an old HDD which I had extracted from a broken laptop. This fits the bill perfectly. The USB connector and lead are a good tight fit. I particulary like the fact that the manufacturer has opted for a standard USB connector, rather than the hybrid ones that come on some external drives. It's simple, sturdy, and it works.The product is well packaged, comes with a user manual, and a personal guarantee. I reckon it's hard to beat at this price, and I've ordered another one, ready for my next cannibalised laptop!

This item arrived promptly, though I wasn't hugely impressed with the packaging. Nevertheless, it took less than a few minutes to add the SSD, plug it in and get it working. Installation of the SSD, and then plugging into my PC was very quick. It just worked! And it is still working as I write this review. Very pleased

The unit is fine. I note with older caddies, they had a double ended USB lead. This was to draw power from two sources and thus manage the 1a or 2a draw of a mechanical hard drive. This unit doesn’t. Possibly because there is an assumption that you are using an SSD or connecting to a USB 3 socket with a strong ampage.So using an old 2.5” HDD in this unit, it worked perfectly when connected to my old HP desktop computer. But not on my 2015 Mac or older windows laptop. No doubt because the HDD was rated at 1amp and a standard USB 2 only delivers 500ma. Perhaps newer machines will supply enough power and I guess proper USB 3 will. Otherwise it needs a powered USB hub to work.

Fantastic device. Installed my old laptop hard drive, plugged in to my new laptop and all the data was there.A good value way to get a n external hard drive.Haven't tested the read/write speeds.

Brilliant and easy to use I use mine connected to my PS4 for used with 500gb hard drive so I have that on top of 500gb hard drive inside PS4 am very happy as with so many games been installed 😊, great purchase and price from a very kind seller highly recommended 😊

Needed this enclosure so I could clone the new drive to fit to a laptop, worked perfectly. Cant comment on the how robust it is as I only bought it for one thing.
