Fifty pounds of this shortening is enough to cover 4 walls of a 10 x 10 room with a sufficiently thick layer. If you need to do a larger room I recommend getting two of these. If carpet coverage is also needed I buy 2 boxes per 100 square feet. Berber carpet needs a bit less, heavy shag carpet a bit more. Do not use this for outdoor applications as it is not sufficiently durable to survive the opossum mating season.
