Cleared up my tank in a few days. Make sure you use a strong air pump with it....strong being one for 50+ gallons. I use it along with my tank filter, NOT AS A STAND ALONE FILTER. My puffer tank is 45 gallons and although they hate air stones, they don’t seem to mind this.

This is by far the worst sponge filter I have ever purchased on Amazon. The entire thing will fall apart in your hand while you're placing it in the tank. The plastic is cheap, the sponges just floats off and are also cheap. The bio media that comes with this looks like white balls of dust waiting to disintegrate. Dont waste your money on this particular product, look elsewhere and save your money.

These are wonderful sponge filters with great ceramic media. Other than maybe dropping the price a little or maybe offering a two pack at a discount I have absolutely no trouble from your product.

Most of the reason I didn't want to switch to sponge filters was due to the fact that they don't look great and the bubbles pop everywhere. What I like about this model is that it doesn't look ugly in my nice display tank. It can be completely disassembled for cleaning every nook and cranny. The only down side is that the cermic media is comes with coated the inside with cermic dust as a result of it tumbling around while dry. This made it difficult to open or take apart anything on the filter before being submerged for some time.

I bought 3 for all my tanks. Great price
