SoftScience The Cruise Canvas Men's Boating Shoes - Sage, Size 9

I had to go up a size for them to fit right, but once I did, they are the most comfortable shoe there is. I now own two of them. The ONLY reason to drop them one star... as I previously stated, you have to go up one size and second, while the insole insert is very comfortable, it does not breath. And unfortunately, that makes my foot sweat. I replace those very comfortable insoles with Dr. Scholl's and, while I lose just a little cushioning, my foot is much drier.

I was unable to get a proper fit. I normally wear a men’s 10.5 or 11, 2E or 4E. These were too small in every way in size 11, and too loose in the heel but still tight side to side in size 12. I later found an excellent fit in a boat shoe from Sketcher in an 11W.Seemed well made and nice looking, but SoftScience’s sizing philosophy just did not work for me.

They need to make some adjustment to sizing. I normally wear an 11.5E US is most shoes. The 12 for closed toe Soft Science is way too big, and the 11 is close to being too small.

Two huge criteria - I am awaiting knee replacement surgery. These shoes allow me to walk, minimizing the discomfort better than anything else I have tried. Their design is phenomenal for cushion and support of the foot. I normally order a wide size when available of any shoe, but the standard SoftScience is cut wide enough for me and probably most EEE users.

Wear a 11.5 - 12. Bought 12. Too tight. Will buy 13

Be very careful when ordering these shoes. They look great, but the sizing is way off. Add at least 1 to 1 ½ shoes sizes to your regular size when ordering these. I’ve run into a number of people who bought various Soft Science styles, in each case they had to return them for the bigger size. Unfortunately, I returned the ones I bought and the correct size has been out of stock for months.

Very light and very comfortable. I was looking for something to replace my Croc's that were discontinued. My only suggestion is that the tounge could be a little longer. Right now it looks like it's trying to escape.

This my third par of Soft Science shoes - incredibly comfortable. Particularly comfortable walking on gravel driveway at the lake.
