Tasty, hot Dal, easy to cook
I buy this product regularly. It's pretty spicy/hot but it's also full of flavour. Very easy to cook, just snip off the top and pop it in the microwave for two minutes. It's probably now accounting for 20% of my work-day lunches.

Great flavour - almost perfect
This has been my first time trying Kohinoor products and wont be the last. I'm vegan, don't often buy ready meals but wanted something substantial that I could take camping along with packets of rice. The flavour of this dal is absolutely spot on, it's more akin to something you would get in an Indian restaurant and doesn't taste in any way processed. The price for 6 sachets is really good too - it's only slightly more expensive than you would pay for 6 tines of veggie curry but much nicer. My only criticism (and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5) was that the consistency is just a bit too runny, it's almost sauce-like. It's possible I got a rogue batch so I will be buying again and will amend this review if that's the case. Looking forward to trying their other products now.

bought 500gm of dal lentils read pack for cooking instructions read cook for 1 and a half hours.took me 1 and 15mins. aargh this stuff takes 2mins as already cooked. and delicious burp.

Adequate but I have had better
This is well priced and makes for a decent meal with rice or nan. But it is some way short of a restaurant level dal - a bit bland, a bit liquid, and with a very different and lingering smell. The least good of the three Kohinoor packs (the others are bombay potato and sag aloo) that I have had.

Tasty and excellent value for money
There are times when one hasn't been able to plan one's evening meal. When this happens I have found this an excellent substitute for home-cooked dals, no nasty synthetic tastes or iffy additives. I fry a mix of vegetables with spices then cook in a lirrle water, when they're almost done tip in the contents of the pack and one has a balanced one pot meal - with the addition of papads of course! I have sampled other pouches in this range and think this is by far the best. If you by a pack of 6 it's amazingly cheap.
