A taste of the best, but not the best possible cut...
I discovered Snake River Farm's American Wagyu ribeye filets, which are fantastic by the way, and wanted to try the real thing. This is a cross section of a ribeye roast, so you get about a 1/8 of an inch thick by 9 inches in diameter "steak". The taste was great, but I would never chose this cut of meat from a store/butcher. Now I know;-)

Greasy thin steak.
What a HUGE disappointment! Was totally jazzed by all the videos I have seen about Wagyu beef. In reality it is greasy, taste plain and way too tenders similar to a mouth full of mashed potatoes. YuK! Save your money and fly to Japan.
