This MIU France Polished stainless steel Cherry Stoner is the cat's pajamas. No seriously, I have a cat, Brusier, who likes to sleep in my pajamas, also likes cherry pits. No one in my family likes cherries. Only Brusier, and he only likes the pits. My crazy wife will take a whole pound of cherries and make Bruiser a cherry pit pie, and she blends the meat of the cherries into a cherry soup. And we all like that. So I guess we all like cherries, in soup. So when the MIU France cherry stoner came into our lives it has been a big help in this endeavor. Helpful Hint : To keep your hands from looking like a serial killers, do not remove the pitted cherries from the MIU France Cherry Stoner with your fingers. Use ice tongs instead and always wear eye protection and an apron. And put down newspaper and keep a mop and bucket of warm soapy water handy. Gosh, how we love that cat. And if Brusier could talk he would say, "Thanks MIU France."

I bought this so I could pit several pounds of cherries to make and can cherry pie filling. This is my first cherry pitter, so I can't compare products, but it worked well enough. My hands were purple by the time I was done, but I was able to get the pits out relatively easily and it saved TONS of time compared to having to pit them by hand. I did use both hands when pushing the pits out (made it go faster) and I had to be a little careful or I was likely to give myself a blood-blister from pinching my fingers in between the metal. I would definitely buy again.

I love fresh cherry's in season, but don't eat them that often because I find it annoying spitting the pits out into my hand or a bowl. This devise came to the rescue, now I have them all pitted and ready to eat without the hastle. What can I say this devise works well, it pits cherry's. Cherries are a seasonal thing, and I saw no reason to spend more money for something that is not used that often and takes up a lot of room in my drawer. Besides this one works just fine. This devise is all stainless steel and easy to clean.I guess this would pit olives also. I haven't tried that yet, but I am going to give it a try since I do enjoy olives on occasion.

I bought this because my 5 year old loves fresh cherries. It works well for the most part, and is simple enough for my 5YO to use it. Makes a mess, though, I was cleaning cherry juice of the walls and floors after using it. As well, I have pinched myself several times using it, so I watch my kids carefully when they use it. Occasionally you have a cherry that is very difficult to center properly, and we end up mangling the cherry getting the pit out. All in all, for the price, it does a fair job.

Does a great job on most cherries. Some have pits that are too large to pass thru the hole. Works best on firm cherries. If cherries are soft the pit squishes past the prong and stays in the cherry, so you have to check closely to be sure the pit is removed. Placing in freezer helps firm them some.

This cherry pitter is too large for small pie cherries. The cherries have to be lined up just exactly so the plunger hits the cherry exactly on top. Then, the pitter might work. If the pit is to the side, it will still be in the cherry after plunging. Also, juice gets everywhere. Juice from one even had a direct hit in my husband's eye! It takes quite a bit of strength to use the pitter. It's not an easy push to try and get the pit out! All in all, I would not recommend this pitter. I had another one for years that I accidentally threw away - now that one was a winner. This one - not so much.

absolutely love this product.... my family love fruit salad, with the little ones I like to pit the cherries and this cherry pitter works great...thankz for making this one.

After 30 cups of cherries husband and I got the hang if it. It takes time to get use to using this. Might sound funny but with a smaller cherry it's takes time. Line cherry with the whole and sometimes still have to fish out seed. Tested with bing cherries from store. A bigger cherry works perfect.
