So I bought this to have so I can switch pens when I need a different tip on the soldering pen. Then I don't have to wait for the pen to cool. It works as well as the one that came with my soldering 3/1 rework station with the correct plug. Great price. Super fast (almost instant) heating.

I tried several irons to replace the original one that came with my 853D rework station. I am very pleased with this unit and am ordering another one to have a a spare.For those that are interested, the resistance for the themistor that is measured across pins 1 and 2 is 14.7 ohms and the heating element across pins 4 and 5 is 1.4 ohms.
