Great Help
I take Minutes for 3 different organizations and approximately 50 meetings a year. I wanted to learn to keep more professional Minutes and anything else that would make the job easier. This book is very easy to follow and has many examples of Agendas, Minutes and other helpful ideas to keep you organized. As I was scanning the book for the first time, I found several tips that I immediately put to work. These tips alone were worth the book. This is a valuable tool.

very informative. each chapter concise and well written. gives examples of different meetings and their settings and most importantly how to break down the information that needs to be in the minutes. a real time saver

I had some experience taking informal minutes, but this book gave me all the tools needed, not only to land the job, but to succeed in it.If you are a recording secretary, if you are in charge of preparing meeting agendas, if you are part of a committee, or you simply want to know how a formal meeting is conducted..... PLEASE get this book.

Team Meetings
After so many team meetings I realised that all meetings are a cost to business and government. The current casual approach to team meetings hide the fact they are business meetings conducted on paid time and should be documented appropriately. The hourly cost of one meeting by the number of staff should not be treated as a social time and proper records of matters discussed should be made. Good overview which encourages how to prepare for such meetings, and the importance of a good chairperson.

Definitely an Art
This is a wonderful book! I have used it many times, I carry it on my Kindle and my iPhone with the Kindle App. If I am in a meeting and need to quickly look something up I have it with me. I like that it has phrases in the back for just about every meeting situation. I am not a great note taker and really abohore taking and writing minutes, but it's part of my job and this book has made it easier.

Great book to learn
Purchased to allow for better notes on teleconferences. The book has helped and gives great tips as well as tricks to use to focus on the areas of concern.

Art of Taking Minutes
A good reference manual and format guide for those charged with the seemingly formidable task of taking minutes. It also provides a list of verbiage to use and should give anyone a bit more confidence when drafting minutes.
