The Return of Nate Grey!
In the simplest terms Dark X-Men is a fun read, as it turns out Dark Beast is surprisingly humorous. And that's the big selling point. This book captures a colorful, yet dark humor. Though the titles caters to a band of mischief, and often villainel mutant cast, the plot focuses more on Nates return. Now if you happen to be a die hard X-Man fan like moi (*fanboy squeal), that's a huge plus. And the author wonderfully captures the enormity of Nate's ability, though elements of his character did change. .....And really that's my one real complain here.If you read Counter-X vol. 3, then you are familiarized with Warren Ellis revamp on X-Man. Characterize as a mutant version of Dr. Strange, John Constantine, or the Phantom Stranger. Realizing his full potential, and alienating himself from his tribe for the better good. Warren Ellis set a dark undertone, giving Nate a purpose that fits this mood. Now some of that alienation is seemingly stripped away, and instead of being this sarcastic, and calculative character. He now seems more naïve, and boastful. For some, these changes seem subtle, but for me they are painfully obvious. The plot is solid. The art is warm/colorful.Characterization is incredibly fun & Sarcastic.I recommend this to any X-Man fan, or anyone that follows X-Men in general.P.S. I would've love to see Nate take on the Sentry, and rip him apart with his MIND!

Stands up there with the best of the Dark Riegn titles.
The price of this book at the time of this review is 6 dollars for a hardcover and 12 for the trade. Im assuming it's a mix up but its just even more incentive to check out this incredibly underrated book. The book is laugh out loud funny in spots and Cornell does amazingly well with Nate. Its a long over due return for the "mutant shaman." Full of great characterization, twists, and bizarre ideas. My only thing with the book was Bianchi's covers. They were moreso a tease. I would have killed to see his take on "the brain." The interiors aren't bad. Its just what could have been tho....8 outa 10

Pretty good stories
Pretty good stories. The book is too short, but it wasn't expensive either. It made a nice addition to Dark Avengers for men th understand the Dark Reign era better.

Character Driven story with a dark twist!
A fantastic character driven story about your favorite X-Villains. This unusual team must venture into Norman Osborn's mind to save him from Nate Grey. It would be great if this series continued on further. The artwork is so/so. Not my favorite, but not bad either.

Nate Grey
I bought this book expecting it to be a easily read stand alone story, it connects into Dark Reign and also if you have no history on Nate Grey you will not beable to understand this story (like me, all i know about Nate is he's basically another version of Cable). So if you have been keeping up with X-Men forever you'll understand but if not I would skip or hit Wiki.
