Highly recommend
I don't print often, but when I do I want to know that I can. With this printer not needing wet ink I can finally count on a printer and the toner doesn't cost more than the machine itself. It was easy to set up and easy to print with from my laptop and phone. The printer is also quiet and I don't have to manually feed paper for double sided prints now. I also love that this printer has a paper drawer for standard size paper and the option of manual feed for different sized paper. Good black and white as well as colored printing.

We love this thing
Color laser printers get a bad rap as far as printing anything beyond simple graphics. With decent photo paper, I've gotta say, I'm really impressed with how well this prints photos, as well.Sure, it's not quite professional quality, like you can get with a good inkjet on photo paper. But it's WAY better than I expected, and really plenty good for the rare situations when we want a photo printed. And other color graphics/images look as fantastic as hoped/expected. Even on normal laser printer paper, you can print off nice color graphics for kid crafts or embellishing hobby projects, and they come out really nice. While it's true that most people don't NEED a color printer, it's been a more useful and fun luxury than we anticipated. And while the cost-per-page is going to technically be higher than say an ink tank inkjet printer, this is an overblown concern for many/most people. The (relatively small) difference in the cost of the printer itself might justifiably matter to some. But the cost of toner vs ink is only going to be significant if you are regularly printing a LOT.What matters more to me -- and I suspect many people -- is that (like any laser printer) this sucker NEVER DRIES OUT. You can go a month between printings if you want, and it doesn't matter! You don't get sideswiped by clogged nozzles when you just want to hop on really quick and print something. You don't have to go through cleaning cycles and spew out tons of ink and use up paper. You simply print stuff when you want to, and it just works. It starts printing pretty quickly, too, within 15 seconds or so for the first page. I don't know why I saw at least one other review claiming it took much longer than that.I'm glad it has an ethernet connection in addition to the WiFi option. And the little color touch screen, while not necessary really, is kinda handy sometimes. So far the toner economy has been phenomenal. Even the skimpy starter cartridges lasted way longer than I expected. Again, it all comes down to your print load. If you're pumping out hundreds of pages a day, yeah, you probably want to look elsewhere. For a typical home load, I maintain that this thing is amazing.

One of the best, more reliable printers I've had!
One of the best, more reliable printers I've had, and I've had quite a few, all different name brands. It prints fast, sharp, clear, vibrant pages. I actually shut down all my other 3 active printers when I seen how efficient this one works. No need for additional printers. This one is fast, reliable, and loaded with features. I love the bluetooth feature so I don't have to be wired in to my computer. I can set the printer across the room away from my desk without cords.

Worst.Printer.Ever
When I purchased this printer less than 2 months ago, I was very excited to use it in order to streamline our restaurant/bar menu printing process. This listing boasted the capabilities of auto printing duplex, high quality color, and speed. Since day 1, this printer has delivered on none of these qualities. The only thing is has delivered is a headache and time wasted each time I had to use it.1. Color - Every time I hit print it's a nice surprise to see what color it's printing for the day. Will it be the nice light dusty blue my file shows, a bright blue raspberry, or maybe purple?! As of recent it's been an interesting dyed looking combination of all three. The color is so inaccurate and inconsistent I can't even imagine feeling comfortable selling this as a 'color printer'. Perhaps a "you get what I feel like printing today" printer.2. Speed - While this printer does print somewhat quickly on the days it decides to work, these days are few and far between. More frequently, the printer will cancel prints mid-job requiring the job to be resent and adjusted to line up with the last page printed, adding an extreme amount of unnecessary wasted time to a print project.3. Duplex "Capable" - When I purchased this product, I was careful to do research to ensure that it could print on A5 paper, as this is the dimensions of our menus. I was thrilled to find that it was, in fact, A5 compatible. Another important box to check was finding a printer that was auto duplex capable, as our menu pages are front and back. Upon receiving this machine, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it to print duplex for these menu sheets. It was not until I was deep down a rabbit hole on the phone with support that I tried to send a file to the printer to duplex via Microsoft Word and it prompted a pop-up that the duplex option is not compatible with the A5 size. The support staff had been unable to share that very important piece of information with me. The seemingly random page sizes it is compatible with are A4, Letter, Legal, Mexico Legal, and India Legal. So now we have a printer that can't print color accurately, is not fast, AND cannot print duplex on the supposedly compatible paper size that we need it to - unchecking all of the boxes we had checked before ordering it.4. Support - Possibly the most frustrating issue of all is being sent to a support team that seemingly knows nothing about these printers or printers in general. After numerous conversations and hours of time spent on the phone, nothing has been fixed and the support staff repeatedly gives up on finding a resolution for the issues.5. Return Policy - The two best words to describe this printer are inconsistent and unreliable. My place of business has been a Brother user/purchaser for years and has had good experiences with these machines in the past. For this reason, and because the printer has OCCASIONALLY worked since purchase, I was hesitant to return the item, thinking issues could be resolved with a support specialist and because we did really need a printer for our business to run as usual. The return policy is only good for 30 days - I am now less than 2 months since we received this product and am unable to return it to either Amazon OR Brother. After spending so much time trying to get this machine to work correctly, I am really under the impression that it is just a defective product/brick that I am now stuck with. It doesn't even make a pretty paper weight. Please be WARNED. I don't ever write reviews, but this is one that I feel passionate about as I have spent so many days/hours trying to get a brand new product to work correctly - on the brink of mental breakdown each and every time. Because Brother's support staff is so unhelpful, please know that when you make this purchase and run into issues (and you will), there will be no one to help you and you will be on your own.Do.Not.Buy.This.Printer.
