Had a bunch of stuff floating on water surface of my 75g cichlid tank (running a canister filter).This unit cleaned the surface very well after only a few hours. Suction cups are almost TOO god, lol (i had a hard time freeing from glass after i wasnt happy with my initial location i chose...).I do shut it off during feedings, as the surface food accumulated on top of the sponge filter in the unit almost immediately. Dont need to create a new problem...For the price, this unit is a no-brainer.

This little machine does the job. The quality is nice and it is easy to set up. Seems to have a good speed of flow as well. The one downside is that it is a little noisy.

This thing works wonders for surface scum in your tank. Seriously. Took all but an hour and it was crystal clear. I have a 75 gallon for reference and it handles it with ease. I have discus and the high protein food tends to leave funk in the tank, and I love what this little thing is doing for my water quality. The only thing I wasn’t super thrilled with was the directions. A little clunky getting it going, and my lord the micro bubbles lol! I didn’t realize that the flow adjustment can fix this, and it’s not mentioned in directions. So if you are getting a copious amount micro bubbles play with the flow control. Fixed it right away. Otherwise it’s a fantastic product. Can’t comment on longevity, but honestly if I can get a year or so of use I think it’s worth the cost if you’re sick of looking at an oil slick at the top of your water…

I cannot believe how quick this skimmer cleaned the dust, dirt, fried chicken grease off the surface of my aquarium. Be careful the suction cups are very strong.I thought they would be stuck there forever.

Got this to originally clear off a layer of the oil that came from a new canister filter. Worked great for that and clears it in minutes. It also adds extra oxygen which is great. However, there is a small attachment meant to make it shrimp safe and it does not work. I checked it the next day and noticed something was in it. It had killed two kuhli loaches. It also caught 5 shrimp who I was able to release in time. Do not recommend for extended uses

I don't write reviews often, but I have to warn you about this product. This skimmer has killed 3 of my fish in less than a month. One fish managed to get into the skimmer during the night (Celestial Pearl, found him alive in the morning but later died). Second fish was an algae eater who got stuck on the grate, when we freed him from the skimmer he swam crazy then died. Third fish was a Cardinal Tetra who was found dead in the morning stuck to the skimmer. This skimmer is a fish killer. Do not buy.

I have a 125-gal tank. It is 6feet long by 2 feet high and 1.5 ft deep. Had constant surface film. The film is now gone, and it worked within the first few hours of operation. Very nice machine!!! Worth it!

Despite my best efforts at rinsing them thoroughly an oily film formed on my new tank set up due to new substrates, etc. I bought this skimmer in the hopes of clearing it up in a day or two. To my amazement, this skimmer filter removed all of the residue and floating sediments in under three hours. This is on a 125 gallon tank. Absolutely thrilled with the results. definitely recommend this product!!!
