The Definitive Shelby Mustang Guide: 1965-1970

I have found that Shelby's popularity in the automotive literary world has been both a blessing and a curse. My interest in these unique pony cars has driven me to collect many books on the subject. Unfortunately, most of them are simply picture books with captions regurgitating the same well known information. Expecting the same magazine quality information, I was pleasantly surprised by Mr. Kolasa's book. I have probably learned more about what makes Shelby Mustangs different than every other Mustang in this book than from all of my other books combined. It combines a good mix of pictures, text, production stats, & interesting information. It mentions r- models & clones, but primarily focuses on a year by year description / contrast of each model of production Shelby Mustang. If I was only going to buy one book on Shelby Mustangs, this would be it. Skip all of those over priced coffee table books and pick this one up. Best book published to date on the topic. Period.

Whether you're a hard core Shelby enthusiast or simply a "weekend warrior" casual fan, this book should be in your library. It has something for everyone. The book is filled with countless facts, figures and terrific photos, but it's not like reading a Calculus-101 text book. The author's dedication to accuracy separates the many facts from fiction. His writing style is such that he takes all the many bits and pieces of technical information and weaves them into a chronological storyline. He writes about those Shelby production years in a way that makes the reader feel he could be right there in Shelby's facility, a part of the team that made these cars a reality. The author's attention to the smallest of details is what puts this book over the top. It is, without a doubt, the most interesting and informative book written covering this era of classic Shelby Mustangs.

Absolutely the final word on the Shelby Mustangs....but also of how a small company, ramped up to build a now iconic automobile. The growing pains, the back ground story, on design, production.... just an amazing book. You won't be sorry, there are other good Shelby books out there, "Shelby"by Colin Comer comes to mind....but this one is just incredible.

Only just started reading it but so far it’s great I’ve been trying to get this book for ages didn’t think to look on Amazon they got both versions paper back and hard backRead some of the pages online and the details are so informative a must for anyone interested in mustangs

A great book telling the story and ideas behind the development of the 'Shelby' Mustang - a book which lays to rest some of the myths surrounding these cars.If you're serious about any of the early Mustangs and particularly the Shelby cars, this book is a 'must-read'.

A great and informative book on the Shelby Mustang. Very well illustrated.

A definite addition to any Shelby fan or Shelby Mustang fan's collection. Lots of great, clear photos, filled with facts, etc. The print size is very large. If the reader is new to the Shelby Mustang line or been around them casually I'm sure after reading this fine publication a person will come away with a talent for differentiating the model year recognition without a problem. Also the production statistics are featured for all models, number of cars built, prices, colors, production changes, etc. A virtual wealth of info & quick find. Greg of course was co/author of the SAAC Shelby Registry which is the "Bible" on anything dealing with the Shelby Mustang line but that publication is a little out of the price range of most I would dare to say? Of course you won't get the S/N's & histories of all the cars listed in the registry but you will get a very good read & as stated above a generous portion of facts & figures in a beautifully prepared shall we say "Reference Manual" along with full color beautiful photos of cars, parts, etc. I myself when I read of this book in the Shelby American 2012 Annual thought:"Oh not another Shelby book".I wasn't going to buy it but after reading the review in the annual I'm certainly glad I did ! You can't beat this book for the price, I highly recommend the book. A good companion book for this publication would also be Colin Comer's book "The Complete Book of Shelby Automobiles" also at a very good price from Amazon.
