Very weak output. Needs an impedance matching transformer
Really cute product. I don't think the micro-thin wire will last through too many performances, but it is, after all, a gag item. Hosever a mono 1/4" jack implies it will be connected to a guitar-type amplifier which is a high impedance input. Low impedance mics should have an XLR connector. I made my own 1/4" female to 1/4" male impedance matching transformer and the output was then very strong - however that requires fabrication and would cost more than the Kazoo. A cheaper approach would be to put an XLR connector on the end of the cable and then run that through a standard XLR to 1/4" impedance matching transformer - those are standard and much less expensive.

I didn't realize how much I needed this in my life. I got a purple one at random! Very loud even without the amp.
