Lab clamps that I always used to take for granted when using ones that had been handed down for generations, turn out to be expensive and not as robust as they used to be, when I find myself in a position to want some more. I looked a lots, before buying a selection to see if any combination of parts would fit a particularly awkward magnetic stirrer, with a built in support stand that was much too close to the magnetic centre for any of my existing clamps...This one was the best of the bunch, and just about right to steady a tall form 600ml beaker, once I had filed a bit off an old boss to get the clamp as close to the stand as possible. (For bigger beakers, I had to modify a 'U' and chain type clamp, which you may also find reviewed.)
