Installed !
I replaced my starter on my 12 yr old Tecumseh 8 HP Snow Thrower. I think I laid on the start button too long for too many times, burned it out.It took about 20 min for me to complete (I had to use a car jack to tilt it enough to see the upper two bolts, since I'm in my late 60's and not a spring chicken anymore)I hand started it easily and let it run for 3 min, then started it again using the electric starter, which fired right up. Of course, the temp was 62 deg and I'm sure it won't do that at 22 deg, but I won't be laying on the starter button for more than 5 seconds or so without giving it a rest next time.#HappyCamper

Good fit and operation.
I shouldn't rate the durability because it's only been turned over once since installing it but it worked fine that one time.My only problem was with delivery. It took longer than I was told.

Perfect fit
This starter worked perfect on the craftsman 9hp tecumseh motor. Easy install just twice small bolts and screw on the starter button. Easy peasy.

Success. It fits and works.
1988 John Deere 826 Snow Blower without electric start. Tecumseh engine 8HP HM80-155317M. This is the correct 120 volt starter motor. Engine shroud has hump to accommodate starter. First removed hump cover and determined flywheel had ring gear. Engine block had 4 tapped starter motor mounting holes. I had to slightly elongate bottom mounting holes on starter to get holes to line up. Mounting screws that came with starter are too long and head is too large to easily get screws started, so installation took a little longer than expected. Starter seems to work well.

Edited after usage - and an error on my part
The item arrived much quicker than anticipated, always good. Although the unit came complete with power cord, the cord did not fit into the starter unit receptacle, which was also supplied. However, I had my old electrical cord, and that fit and worked. For better or worse, the snowblower has only had to be used twice since the installation of this new starter unit. The starter worked as anticipated both times. The look, heft and design appear to be OEM in spec. The telling tale will be will it last twenty-one (21) years like the original did? I jest, but just a bit. I was amazed at how worn the original teeth on the armature were on the original starter. Worn, well, more like gone. Hence the need for a new starter, and this one seems to be doing just fine. Was edited due to "thinking" the armature was stripped after 14 uses. Well folks, please use Loc-tite (or something similar) on the bolts holding the starter to the snow blower. I ordered a replacement starter in February 2020 (to replace the January 2018 replacement starter). It quickly arrived, and in the process of changing out the starters, saw a couple of bolts missing from the starter that was already on the machine. Put new bolts on, and the starter which started this review in January 2018 works perfectly. Armature looks as new as the day it was installed. My error completely. I am keeping the starter ordered in February 2020 as a backup.

It works great
As if it was a factory OEM part at a decent price / value too.
