NOTE:"Blue Ray disc csn be played only in Blu Ray player" In 1975 and 1976 Paul McCartney and Wings undertook the epic Wings over the World tour, the largest scale tour they would ever undertake as a band. From this tour came both the legendary Wings over America triple live album and the concert film Rockshow. Although filmed on this tour at the enormous Kingdome in Seattle, Rockshow, originally a cut down version of the concert, was not premiered until November 1980 in New York and April 1981 in London. It was released on Betamax and later on laserdisc. Now for the first time the complete full length concert is being made available fully restored from the original 35mm film and with restored & remastered sound, including a 5.1 mix for the first time. This is Paul McCartney and Wings live on stage in a concert that is destined to live forever!Bonus Features:A Very Lovely Party on tour with Paul McCartney & Wings.Track Listing:1) Venus And Mars / Rock Show / Jet 2) Let Me Roll It 3) Spirits Of Ancient Egypt 4) Medicine Jar 5) Maybe I'm Amazed 6) Call Me Back Again 7) Lady Madonna 8) The Long And Winding Road 9) Live And Let Die 10) Picasso's Last Words 11) Richard Cory 12) Bluebird 13) I've Just Seen A Face 14) Blackbird 15) Yesterday 16) You Gave Me The Answer 17) Magneto And Titanium Man 18) Go Now 19) My Love 20) Listen To What The Man Said 21) Let 'Em In 22) Time To Hide 23) Silly Love Songs 24) Beware My Love 25) Letting Go 26) Band on the Run 27) Hi Hi Hi 28) Soily

All Time Favorite
I've had this concert dubbed from LaserDisc for twenty years or better. Now, I have the version I always hoped for. This is post Beatles McCartney finding his footing as an individual. Funny, it took a real band for Macca to really shine however. And what a great band this 1.5 version of Wings is. It is the definitive version and this concert states a clear case for that. Denny Laine was the right second banana to Macca. He had the chops and knew to stay in the right place for most of his run. Here he may have had a little chemical tuning, but he's on and he adds a lot. So does Jimmy McCulloch. Medicine Jar will become sadly poignant in just a few years. Then the big man on the skins. Joe English looks like he is waging a battle whereby the trap set has submitted to him "lording" over it with vigorous corrections if it threatens to get out of line (LOL!). Seriously, English was a great hard hitter with decent finesse shown on the cymbal and other percussive work. And, I'll make a case for Linda. When I was younger I will admit I wondered why Paul was so attracted to Linda, after all he could have almost any woman. Well, Linda was his soul-mate first, but what that entailed was really cool. She shared the most important thing in his life which would be his music and their children. She was totally "hands-on" singing and playing the keys. In fact, she did better on the keys than I ever realized because Wickens, today with his advanced pre-programmed MIDI segments et.all, just equals Linda's keyboard sound. Wickens really doesn't eclipse anything Linda is doing here in the seventies. That's pretty much a big "hell yeah" for Linda. I know she took a lot of kidding, some really mean-spirited, for her singing, but you can hear her and she definitely adds more than any possible detraction so I just wish the "haters" who like to tear her apart vocally would just go listen to some awful Velvet Underground drivel (an overrated band that rightly didn't appeal to many then or now). Sorry, I got side-tracked. Anyway, I love this incarnation of Wings and proclaim it to be the definitive and only version that matters. The picture is soft like film of the era and I don't mean this in a bad way. Nope, there's detail even in the low-light film with grain. The best re-mastering has likely been done for the visuals and since it's spades ahead of my old DVD of a dub from laserdisc I'm more than overjoyed. The sound is really amped up and gorgeous. Could it be better? Some have speculated so, but I think they're nuts as the sound is fantastic and holds up when played at crazy loud levels through Klipsch speakers. This is my favorite all-time concert on video. Thanks Paul for putting it out. I know you don't need the money so I am grateful as a fan that you respect us enough to make loads of video available. Anything you put out we'll likely buy, but when it is as good as this it somehow feels like a great gift dropped down from somewhere and suddenly there were smiles everywhere. Yep, your music has always had that uncanny effect on me since I was old enough to draw pictures of four stick figures with some cool boxes on stage that said VOX. This is a must buy concert if you love good rock and roll music because it rarely, if ever, has been done better.

YESTERDAY
I grew up in the 50's listening to a small a.m. radio that my Mom always had going while doing chores. That changed to a larger a.m. radio that I listened to in the basement while building model cars in the early 60's. I really didn't know who the artists were then, but looking (and listening) back, I realized that I was being schooled by Elvis, The Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, among others! I began hearing a song called "She Loves You" in the latter part of the year that automatically commanded a volume increase when it would come on....and an automatic "turn that damn thing down" from the parents upon the volume increase! (Little did they know what was in store when they bought me my first record player in '65!!) And soon after came the night of February 9th, 1964!!!!By then, I had heard a few more songs by The Beatles, and was primed for this world-wide musical introduction!! I, like most of you, flipped out over this band....and to watch my parents reaction was ALMOST as entertaining as Ed Sullivan!Fast-forward to the mid-seventies. I'm married now, with kids, own every record the band made, not to mention all the solo releases, and thought life was pretty good....and then I discovered that Wings were coming to Tucson, Arizona!Although I lived in Phoenix, it was a "no-brainer" that I was going, calling off work to secure the tickets the day they went on sale! Although I was not able to see The Beatles, I sure as hell was going to see 1/4th of them! The concert was OVERSOLD, OVERCROWDED and OVERWHELMING!!!!No doubt the high point of my year!Fast-forward to present day. As I have explained in another review, I have just discovered the amazing selections offered by my new, favorite record store, Amazon.com.! When I happened upon ROCKSHOW, in blu-Ray no-less, again it was a no-brainer!! Only this time, I didn't miss any work or stand in any lines!I don't tend to live in the past, but I DO like to re-visit it often....as I very well did the minute I put this disc on! The instant I pushed play, it was 1976 again! The 5.1 surround is BETTER than the actual show, thanks to the stellar mixing and re-production on this disc..you can hear EVERY NOTE that Sir Paul puts down on that bass, as well as the clarity of the horns....and it sounds as if Joe English is pounding those drums right behind my 73" DLP!! Altogether....PHENOMENAL!Downside? The ROCKSHOW disc was released as a movie, not a live concert gig..and I find the HD video leaving a little to be desired..but, it's still a much better seat than I had at the actual concert! And for that minor technicality, I'm not holding back a star..besides, the audio more than makes up for it!!!! After all, it IS PAUL McCARTNEY!So....this is NOT just another concert disc....THIS IS SONIC HISTORY!Take a journey back to YESTERDAY!!Youll thank me in the morning! As always, I welcome any feedback on this....Happy Listening! Al

Excelente video!

Well worth the wait
I have been waiting for this since it was released in 1976!On the bright side, since it took so long to be released, I can now enjoy it with my daughter (she's 5 now). Her favorite moment is during the performance of Live And Let Die (I have to rewind that 2 or 3 times).I purchased the deluxe edition of this release and it contains so much material - notebooks, photos, oh yeah and the music. Not one, not two, but 4 CDs and a DVD of the show. We prefer the Blu-ray though. The 1976 Wings Over America tour was a period where McCartney was in the midst of a second artistic and commercial peak as an artist (with his then still new band Wings). It was also McCartney’s first major North American tour since the Beatles breakup, and not surprisingly, a genuine media event.

Want to see the classic "Wings Over America" live...purchase this blue ray recording of "Rockshow"
I loved this Blue Ray from the 1970's rock show, that sadly I couldn't see "live in concert" when the tour touched down in Toronto. It's so good hearing these "Wings hits" of "Maybe I'm Amazed, Venus and Mars, Silly Love Songs and Uncle Albert" combined with all of McCartney's Beatles hits. This disc is perfect for what I call "summer music listening". This blue ray is similar to the CD of "Wings Over America" there are some good ornaments in this disc of a "behind the scenes" footage when band was having down time and also during the concert. Highly recommend this Blue Ray!
