Simple and effective
We love the Bella Coffee maker. This is our second. The last one we used for about 3-4 years every day. It keeps the coffee super hot for about 1 hour and 30 minutes before auto shutoff. Flavor is great! We use compostable bleach free filters to cut some of the bitterness that the basket filter lets through. You may like that though. For the price it’s a great value!

KRUPS XB112050 Replacement Carafe Works for BELLA (14755) "Ultimate Elite" 12-Cup Coffee Maker
If I had not found the KRUPS XB112050 Replacement Carafe that works with this Bella coffee maker, I would rate this coffee maker as 1 Star max, and perhaps should do that anyway, because according to my standards the company that offers the coffee maker ought to also offer replacment carafes at a reasonable price, but as I understand, Bella does not even offer a replacement for sale, they would only provide a replacement if under warranty due to defect.I chose this coffee maker because the few moving parts it has should stand up fairly well; i.e., the coffee basket receptacle is accessed by lifting the top lid, which pulls up the water distributor wand, as simple and robust a design as I have seen, similar to that of the Mr. Coffee base models (which seem to last forever, but typically don't have a coffee receptacle overflow to the carafe, which this Bella does have). In contrast, with those coffee makers that have a coffee receptacle that swings out on hinges, or in a drawer that slides out, those parts seem to wear out or deform over time, so that they no longer close properly. When the Bella carafe got broken, I contacted Bella via the phone number provided, but all they did was send a warranty claim form. My extensive search did not turn up a replacement listed as suitable for this Bella coffee maker. However, the KRUPS XB112050 Replacement Carafe Works okay for this BELLA (14755) "Ultimate Elite" 12-Cup Coffee Maker. The base of this Krups model is slightly larger than the warmer base of this Bella, so the carafe can be wiggled a bit, but the overall height is such that the "pause n' serve" valve operates well enough to allow coffee to flow from the filter cup down into the carafe, while not lifting up the lid.BEWARE that using water above ~10.3 cups on the water-fill scale will result in water running out the water reservoir overflow hole. Apparently, compared to Krups, the Bella folks use a smaller cup for gauging the capacity of their coffee makers.

Defective out of the box
Unboxed, placed on counter, set time. Filled with water to run through two potfuls to clean, as per instructions. Water immediately began leaking out from underneath the coffee maker onto the kitchen counter, and continued until every drop had leaked out!I’ve requested a replacement, which should arrive tomorrow. I’ll update the review then.———UPDATEThe replacement arrived and is working as expected. Nice coffee maker, but a couple of features would make it even better. I wish you could turn off the beeps that signal when coffee is ready, so it doesn’t wake up people who are still sleeping. Our previous coffee maker had this feature. I also wish the time the warmer stays on after brewing was adjustable, as I would prefer 3 hours instead of 2. I find that the temperature of the warmer is perfect for keeping the coffee hot. I noticed some reviews complaining of this. After my initial experience, I have to believe that those reviewers received a defective unit as well.

Perfect for a sub $50 machine
I've been using this for a couple months now and really have no complaints. I'm actually laughing at a lot of the reviews on here --- people either don't know how to make coffee or I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and they received a lemon product. This is a simple machine -- really has two different brew settings a clock and a timed start. If you've ever set a timer on any other device you can operate this...so for those who are saying it's hard I'm surprised they were able to figure out how to write a review on Amazon.I've brewed both 2-cup pots and 12-cup pots consistently. I've been using the included filter without a paper filter. It's a little extra cleanup compared to the paper ones, but something I don't mind.Again, for a sub $50 coffee maker this thing is great. If you're getting standing water in your filter or a bunch of grinds in your coffee you probably either ripped the filter, not grinding your beans to drip coffee or tamping your grounds so tight the water can't flow through.

IMPOSSIBLY SLOW! RUINS GOOD COFFEE!
I bought this because of the no drip carafe, which is the ONLY good feature about this machine. Yes, easy to use, easy to clean, but so are most drip coffee makers. That about fills the “pros” list. The cons? For starters the speed of brewing is absurd. It took a solid 45 minutes to brew one 12 cup pot. I am a read the manual kind of consumer, and not once was there any mention of the sloth-like pace that it took to brew one pot of coffee. Thank goodness I am retired, and would not have had to factor in the ridiculous brew time before work. I would have either have been on time without a cup of coffee under my belt or I’d have been running late due to this slug of a machine. Now the other huge con. In the manual it states that one could usually expect a cup of water to be absorbed during the brewing process. I measured 12 cups of water, poured it in the machine, looked at the fill line and noted that I indeed had enough water for 12 cups. After the 45 minutes had passed, and the machine indicated that the coffee was ready, I looked at the carafe and found that the pot only produced 6 cups of coffee. I should mention that I did not select the “bold” brew setting. When I finally got to drink my long-awaited first cup of coffee (and I was showing signs of caffeine withdrawal at this point) it was so strong that it was barely potable. I prefer a strong cup of coffee, but this was literally twice the strength of my usual brew. I don’t cut corners on the purchase of good coffee, and this machine reduced some fine Kenyan beans to an unpalatable slurry. This coffee maker got four uses from me and if I could, I’d use a negative number for its rating.

Quality coffee, slim and attractive, easy to use and clean
Excellent choice of filter coffee maker - optimizes all of the critical features in terms of quality coffee and physical elements. I have used this coffee maker daily since it arrived early almost 3 weeks ago. It brews just slowly enough that the coffee flavour comes through yet is fast enough. It is quite nice looking with a touch of stainless steel, has a decent sized 12 cup carafe yet at 7 inches wide is a stand-out in that there are few quality coffee makers of this compact size. It has an easy setting for 1-4 cups (paper basket filter recommended for this) delivering consistently good quality at this setting (whether or not you remember how to set the 1-4 cup choice). I chose this coffee maker taking into account all of the recommendations from Consumers Reports even though CR did not rate this the highest based on their own scoring scheme - so I consider this a 'find'. I do not use any of the convenient programming features so cannot speak for this aspect but enjoy a good cup of coffee so would rather not let the ground coffee sit out until the programmed time to start brewing.
