Men's Lightweight Merino Wool Quarter-Zip Sweater

Update: I received no response or help from the seller the problem with my order. I also only received 2 of the 5 sweaters I ordered and paid for. Run, don't walk from this item and seller.I hate leaving negative reviews. Hate it. But I’m honest and depend on others honest reviews to help me choose items to buy.So here it goes.The sweater is very inexpensive so my expectations reflected that. Anybody that thinks a thick wool sweater can be manufactured at this price point needs to adjust their expectations. Moving on. The yarn and knit are even and uniform. Actually better than I hoped for. The shirt was a little rough right out of the package and that concerned me. After washing it, it was really soft. Held it’s shape. Wasn’t falling apart. I would have been very happy if the issue that was obvious as soon as I opened the package would have resolved itself through washing. Sadly it did not. Out of the package it smelled so bad I gagged. We farm. Have raised livestock. I’ve been exposed to some really bad smells over the years and never once was I tempted to throw up because of an odor. The nearest I can describe it is a mix of the worst mold ever and the solution used when women get their hair permed. It was incredible. So I washed it in a very expensive detergent made for wool and cashmere. Better but not nearly enough to actually make the shirt wearable. So I sprayed it down with a well known odor releaser, then let it dry while crossing my fingers. Again better but still overwhelming. So I went for broke because at this point it’s not returnable anyway. Pulled out the big guns. Tide with febreeze and baking soda. Threw it in the washer on the wool cycle and left it up to the fabric gods. Sadly, this story has no happy ending. The smell is still overpowering. Worse, I bought 5 of these sweaters.If the sweater you receive doesn’t smell like it was worn by a dead animal in high summer upon arrival, you will probably be very happy with it. I’ve now washed the sweaters in a normal wash cycle and they’ve held up perfectly. I’ve broken every ‘how to clean wool’ rule and haven’t had any deterioration. Which is something of a miracle. For those thinking it’s probably not wool, there is at least some wool, and it could be the mix of wool and cashmere in the description. I’m not getting it lab tested for content. Take away the odor problem and this is a great deal.Note: I wash everything before it’s worn because most products are produced in factories that are no where near sanitized, then put into packaging that does not get high end housing while waiting to be used, to finally wind up in dirty shipping containers for long journeys. It then sits in industrial warehouses for days to months before shipping out to other warehouses or stores. This is how things are done and no reflection on the manufacturer or seller. I have no delusions that my clothing is being made in clean rooms, then carefully set into sterile packaging while it is being stored in conditions similar to my closet. Nope. Huge warehouses probably near vermin infested docks, housed next to some sort of food that attracts referenced critters. It’s the nature of international trade and again not the fault of the manufacturer or seller. Knowing all the gross places my new clothing may have been makes it common sense to wash it before letting it touch mine or my family’s skin. If you don’t, it’s like wiping your face with a strangers dirty napkin. So not happening.Why did I wash the sweaters instead of immediately returning them? These are very inexpensive. If I had been able to salvage even 2 or 3, I still would have felt good about the whole situation. I gambled and lost.

Fair quality at best, I will not buy again. This is the reason people do not come back to e-com, a description can often be over stated. I would NOT buy this sweater again. I would recommend to friends not to buy. They should make a better product, even if they have to raise prices. I have written AMAZON suggesting they go after this category and build great product. People do not re-buy apparel made from poor materials

This sweater satisfied my search for a good quality, quarter zip merino sweater in a TRUE dark teal. This color is difficult to find, and I was thrilled when I got this sweater! It is fitted but not tight, the length is perfect and the fabric is soft and warm but doesn't make me overheat. Looks awesome dressed up or casual. I recommend this!

The fit was great. I bought for a trip for work. By the end of three days, the sweater was pilling all over and looks much older than it is. I haven’t washed it yet but a little disappointed with the pilling. It’s very thin but pretty warm. If not for the premature pilling this sweater would be perfect. Kind of wish I had gone with the cotton instead of the wool.

The claim is 100% merino wool. this doesn’t feel or perform like my other merino wool clothes. It gets hot like a synthetic versus regulating a comfortable skin temp. The knit is fairly loose, too so I’m confused by the claim versus my experience. I don’t know how clothing material claims are validated so i’d Just say read the other reviews and if you’re like me and already have expectations then there are many other options around $100 that feel and perform right

Love these sweaters! I purchased a 2x for my hubby as he is a big fan of merino wool. This sweater is light weight, perfect to throw over your daily clothes when there is a chill. I don't know what it is about the design of this sweater, but it does have a slimming effect! I swear my hubby looks like he lost 20lbs. I bought a second one because he liked the first one so much! Yes, there is an odd smell upon first opening. I just aired them outside in the sun for a half a day, I no longer notice it. I would have bought more, but the price went up. The first one I bought at a great price! $40 is still worth it to me though! If you are looking for a light weight sweater you can't go wrong with this one!

These Merino wool sweater/shirts are good - comfortable on the skin. Bought a Large-Tall to wear under jacket or down vest. And bought an XXXL-Tall to wear as lounging shirt just around the house during winter. These are comfortable directly on the skin - great base-layer - no need for cotton shirt underneath the Merino wool -UPDATE - they shrink like crazy - even using cold water - must dry clean I guess -Also - the zipper is small crummy junk - always getting snagged & stuck -At $45 you'd think they could use a decent zipper -

I bought this sweater in the wrong size, and also found the color to be too dark for my husband. While trying to refund/reorder the same item, in a smaller size, and different color, I learned that the original price of $26.00, had jumped up to over $40.00. Customer service was contacted, and I asked about this increase. They would not honor the previously listed price of $26.00 in an exchange/reorder. I would have been expected to pay the difference. This increase in price appeared shortly after, I purchased this sweater. Also, I made this inquiry within 24 hrs of its delivery to my home.I'm disappointed with Amazons stand in this situation. I've been a good customer for the past 4-5 yrs. and have never taken advantage of Amazon in any way.The sweater itself, is a very soft, rather lightweight merino wool. it is lovely, it would be very comfortable to wear.

Brought for Xmas present, arrived creased not very well delivered loose in paper bag. It looks ok now I’ve had it hanging, the jumper looks ok just poor delivery.

Only criticism of this item would be too light for winter weather - alright for indoor wear though.
