Wired Micro-Macramé Jewelry: Enhancing Fiber Designs with Wire

I am very pleased with my purchase and am looking forward to trying many of the projects in this 'book'!! I didn't feel quite the same way about the first one ~ I used it mostly for inspiration. I love working with wire and ironically was thinking what a lovely 'marriage' that wire & micro-macrame would make, long before I saw Joan's 2nd micro-macrame book!I LOVE the bangle cuff in this instruction manual ~ very creative and the ideas for selecting gorgeous color palettes are top notch, in my opinion! The earring projects in this book are more appealing to me than the ones featured in the first publication. I actually want to make them! Joan's work has a very Southwestern feel to it and since I live in Arizona, I share in the Southwestern passion but I also adore Victorian jewelry & would have to say it is my first love. The reason I mentioned this is because of a previous review comment. Every artist has their own style and just because this one isn't up your alley does not mean that it isn't good ~ different strokes for different folks (I hear a song coming on lol!) How about expanding your artistic horizons and dabbling in numerous styles? Personally, I love to do that :)Bravo to you, Joan! You did a *wonderful* job on your second time around! I'm actually looking forward to your 3rd offering :) As for the price, Amazon has the BEST deal on this book ~ I didn't have to pay additional tax AND the shipping was free! There is plenty here to inspire & hold the attention of a macrame and/or wire enthusiast :)

I'm impressed with this book. After seeing the one star review I almost didn't buy it. But I thought there are so few books out there covering nice looking macrame jewelry I might as well give it a shot. So often I am not impressed with the books I purchase on crafts/art. Many times there is only one project I might try. But that is not the case with this book. There are many projects I'm going to attempt.I love working with wire and have once again picked up my macrame. This book not only has projects I'll try, but it is very inspirational and I can see where I will be branching off and creating my own designs. Already, in the supplies list, I discovered a product I wasn't aware of and have ordered it. That in itself will be worth the cost of this book! I agree it's not a thick book, but what is in it is solid learning material and the photographs are great.I'm so glad I purchased this book and now I'm going to go and see what else this author has to offer.

I like the content of this book a lot. The designs are beautiful and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. My complaint is that it is a poor quality self-publication. Cheesy font and the photos are slightly blurry and off color, though the detail is still fairly easy to see. The cover is beautifully photographed so I was very surprised to see such inferior quality on the inside. And because of the inferior quality I feel the MSRP of $24.95 is much too high (glad I didn't pay that much!). Truthfully, had I seen this in a book store I might not have purchased it. However, the content is inspirational.

I loved this book and couldn't wait to do every project. The designs have a cheery,energetic and somewhat humorous quality that I find very appealing.The step-by-step pictures for each project are extremely helpful for a visual learner like myself.I did find myself referring back to Joan Babcock's book, "Micro-Macrame Jewelry - Tips and Techniques for Knotting with Beads", which I bought fromAmazon previously. Micro-Macramé Jewelry: Tips and Techniques for Knotting with Beads If you are getting back to knotting after not doing it for awhile, or if you have never done knotting, I recommend that book, as well!Happy knotting!

I have only skimmed this book so far. It looks to be very complete with clear instructions, drawings and lots of photographs. The projects look completely do-able. I often buy craft books because I want to learn a new technique. Even if I don't actually use the techniques, I am inspired in what I do by what I see of others' art. Now all I have to do is put one of the projects in the pipeline and I'll get to it if I live long enough.

I was slightly disappointed in this book the main reason is that most of the ideas offered in the book are basically the same.Maybe it is because you are using wire and thus it has to be somewhat sturdy so the macramé does not slip off the wire armature.I do think that with all the macramé and fusion (macramé( knots available it could have been a little better. I will give mea more sound foundation to start with - so that is why it is just ok.

This is a very small book...that said, it is a great launching tool to inspire the macrame artist to incorporate wire into macrame designs. Of course, I would have like to see more examples and pages of instruction, but what was there was interesting and well presented.

If you want to learn micro macramé then this is one book you should get. Her designs and color choices are beautiful. She gives very clear step-by-step directions at the beginning, for each type of knot used. The photos are very clear. I've not done any macramé since high school (in the 70's) so I was looking forward to learning how to use the technique with very thin cord.

This book is far way much better than the previous one by Joan Babcock.All the book has colour step by step photographs.The projects are easy to follow and the result is excelent!The dificulty grows a little in each project but still very easy to follow.Great book.

This is the third book of Joan Babcock's that I've bought and the projects are just fabulous. The difference with this one is that she combines wire with the macrame knotting. Love it.

Some really good ideas with easy to follow instructions.
