Syberia Collection (PC DVD)

Ok x 2
I've got this for the PS2 too.I didn't realise it until recently,so I've got two versions. It's got potential but is frustrating to play. It's an unusual theme. You have to constantly find obscure items in odd places to keep the game going.Even when you know something, you have to do things in the exact order or no go.Moving around is a bit fiddly sometimes. In the factory for example, when trying to navigate between the upper office and the stairs. You know what you're trying to do but it's annoyingly awkward.Maybe I'm cross with the game 'cos I bought it twice.And..,and I couldn't save it on the PS2 'cos of lack of space on a memory card !At least I didn't have that trouble on the PC !So,it's a game for when you're in a really good mood with loads of time.I guess that goes for ALL games I 'spose.I like is 'cos it's different but just wish it played better.

Love Syberia, technical problems with Amerzone
I love Syberia I & II. I linked the computer to the TV screen so that I could show the graphics to a friend without having both of us crowding around my computer screen. Very pleased with it and very pleased with the impact it had too. The pace is slow but the game's graphics are very beautiful and the story interesting and often funny. I regret that some of the 'towns' we passed through were not available for 'visiting' as they were intriguing, but this is a minor point.I could not save Amerzone when I wished to. So after 2 tries, I just gave up on it.

Syberia really good, Amerzone not so much
Two really good adventure games for people who don't really play computer games. I got frustrated with the speed that Kate walks (and runs!) and the amount of walking involved in order to solve puzzles but that's all part of the gameplay. Graphics are great and storyline weird but it keeps your brain ticking and you don't have to kill anyone.Amerzone was really slow and jerky and I couldn't change the POV (point of view) of the character so it lost me from the start.

Great game which makes you think and of excellent quality
I encountered this game on xbox and found that the content and style of it is very well presented and immersingly produced. The quality of the product is excellent as is also the storytelling. I like the intricacies as the adventure goes on.

So boring
Syberia is one of the most boring games I have ever played. 99% of the game is spent clicking on a spot and then waiting for the character to walk there. There is virtually nothing to do and after a few hours playing I abandoned the game. I gave Syberia 2 a try but this was no better. The story is interesting and had potential but there is so little interaction with anything or anyone that the game is nothing more than a waste of time.I found Amerzone quite good, as there was things to figure out, like making contraptions and such, but unfortunately the fact that the game is now so old meant the graphics were very poor and the animated cut scenes lost the visual element and were audio only (on my pc anyway).I'm a fan of point and click games but i definitely do not recommend these. Go for something like Mysterious Island or Journey to the Moon if you want a good story, things to do and discover and interesting puzzles to figure out.

Check your version of Windows
Great game, but I did have to dig out my old laptop to get this to work. Check the windows requirement and make sure you have a computer old enough to run as it will not work in recent windows releases. If you love the Broken Sword games you will like these.

Syberia is fabulous!
This trilogy is a bit let down by the first one "Amerzone" where Benoit Sokal is perhaps cutting is teeth, but boy does he make up for it with Syberia I and II. If you like pc games but don't like the violent ones, then this is for you. The scenery and the music are really very good and I had to keep forcing myself to put it down to go and get on with jobs. The only thing I don't like are the fairly regular phone calls she receives, but you still have to listen to them as a few of them might have a little clue in there. Well recommended and luckily Syberia III is coming out next year.

Good value really.
I've played, twice, both Syberia 1 and 2 on my Xbox, indeed I even ordered a U.S copy of Syberia as it was cheaper than the PAL one, worked fine on my PAL Xbox and I've played Amerzone on my PSOne,in my opinion Syberia is one of the best of these type of games and I'm a big fan of Broken sword, the only game that came near it to me was Secret Files:Tunguska. I've got both Dracula games,Louvre and Necronomicon on the PSOne which are very similar to Amerzone and I loved those, granted it's not as good as Syberia but I personally wouldn't deduct points for it's inclusion,it's a bit dated but it's interesting to see it.Likewise Wolfenstein is horribly dated on RTCW but I don't begrudge it's inclusion.
