So far great buy!
I bought this to replace my original Littman classic series 12 yo stethoscope tubing. I discovered a crack in the tubing soon after I decided half my patients one morning must be vampires due to an utter lack of any heart sounds ๐ฑ. I was able to do a quick fix with scotch tape, but this seemed slightly chintzy, so i decided to replace the tubing. The Littman replacement tubing was $90...spend a little more and I could just buy a whole new stethoscope! This tubing is candy apple red, not dark green, though this company does have other colors advertised on amazon. It comes with the tubing, 2 sets of soft ear tips, and chrome neck prongs. The diameter of the tubing seems just a tad larger than the original to make replacing the hardware easier, but it is not loose and the stethoscope head will not fall out. The ear prongs are a chrome finish and I wanted to use my original brushed nickel finish ones. That was the hard part. The ear prongs would not budge from the original tubing and I had to cut the old tubing off with scissors. It turns out there is a metal ribbon connecting the 2 ear prongs. Go figure. After taking out the chrome prongs, I then shimmied/ finessed the old outfit into the new tubing (very grateful for the slightly larger diameter here). So far this new replacement tubing works beautifully. Still getting used to the candy apple red color. The same day I replaced the tubing I had a WWE with myotrophic cardiomyopathy and heard that murmur loud and clear. I am an ob/gyn so I am mostly concerned with below-the-waist pathology, but still need need to hear hearts, lungs, bellies, and perhaps with the Obamacare changes to medicine, a few bank safes.

This tubing is a little thicker than on stethoscopes I have used in the past, but it is very flexible. I am hopeful this will equate to longer life. I have always owned Littmans in the past, and they have a stiffer tubing that invariably cracks with time, making the stethoscope unusable. My Littman II pediatric stethoscope head fits into this tubing very well. The only downside I found was the earbuds. They are also made of a softer rubber, and they fall off easily. I lost one and the other developed a tear in the rubber because I had to keep putting it back on. I replaced the earbuds after about 2 months and have not had problems. If not for the earbuds would give 5 stars.

So so replacement
Ear tips fall off easily with this tubing and it seems to attract dirt/dust and feels rough until cleaned off. Old tubing never lost ear tips and always felt smooth.

Quality; fun colors
Was able to replace the old, short tubing, but still use the quality Littman components from the early 1980โs when I was in nursing school. I like the large selections of colors and picked one that makes me smile.

Not what I expected
Does not sound near as good as my original. The tube is really thick as well. I do like the bright red color.

Fat and on the Pink side of Red
It is much fatter tubing than the original and it is not the same (fire engine) red, more like a mango watermelon color I am not fond of
