I remember watching NBA games as a kid, It's amazing not knowing how this young man at the time battled through so much tragic times to come out with great understanding of life. Beautiful triumph !!! 🎈🎈

This book confirms that life is like a road map. It has many different ways to get you to your destination, but you are the one that makes the decision on which route to take. oft n times it is the road less traveled ends up,being the one best traveled. I loved the book and the way Derek realized and acknowledged that God is always there even when we don't understand or realize His presence. Everyone that can read should read this book, because as humans we all face something along life's path. One key thing it stresses is to never give up and don't judge who comes into your life, some for a reason and some for a season, just knowing this will help keep you focused on the big picture of life and your goals and dreams. Thank you Derek and hope one day to meet you in person and give you a great big ,thank you" hug.

I am not a sports fan and had never heard of Derek until I saw him speak at a fundraiser for The Healing Place in Louisville. He was very charming and engaging and engaging so I bought the book.It is a quick read and definitely a way to gain perspective as most of us will never experience anything close to the lows and highs that Derek has. You can add this to your Motivation collection.He wrote it himself and the authenticity is nice however a professional editor could have corrected varying levels of detail and made sure the story lines were all closed. There are spots where it is a little hard to follow. Still a great account of an amazing journey.

I really enjoyed STAMINA, this autobiography and fast read about the life of college and NBA star basketball player, Derek Anderson Sr. It is written from his heart and shows the amazing determination of a young child to overcome life's earlier years' odds to be a true winner as a successful professional athlete, business man, father and human being! This is the basketball player's version of the Blind Side book and film!I hope many people read it, particularly children, who can be motivated by Derek's journey through life's ups and downs, but managing to stay focused to achieve his positive goals and more! We are all have given life's uneven playing cards when it comes to parents, financial means, health, a stable home, and a support base.But Derek's book, STAMINA, reminds us all of life's lesson: " Remain focused and never give up your dream."Craig G.

This book was definitely what I needed at the toughest time of my life. An inspirational biography from start to finish. Incited a sense of hope in myself that had been extinguished by all of my past hurts. Anyone who is feeling suffocated by their own trials and tribulations must read this and I will guarantee your faith with be rebuilt in the process. Thank you Mr. Anderson for sharing your story with all of us who needed to read your inspiring words!

Reading D.A. story has helped me look at my life and the things I struggled with as a youth are things that most people can relate to in their teenage years. How you handle adversity and how you plan to make your life better is a daily struggle, but Stamina shows you that if you have faith in God and yourself; all things are possible!Excellent read!

I first saw Derek Anderson doing an interview on the local Los Angeles news and he immediately got my attention with his words. I'm not into basketball at all but just the way he spoke made me interested in his book. I've read it and it tells about how hard his life was but how he was able to overcome many obstacles. Even if you do not like basketball, you'll still like this book. He's a very hard-working, inspiring man.

Derek opens up into a part of his life that was not only hurtful but painful. I'm grateful he allowed his readers to get to know him, "the person" over and beyond "the personality." Very few celebrities are as candid and free in exposing their past, no matter how horrible. Thanks Derek for using those bad times to build a life of success and a path of hope for those who would heed your wise counsel.
