Great cheap coffee maker.
I've been using a filter cup and filters, really easy to clean up and use, not very convenient to pour hot water into the filter cup every few minutes. Which is why I got this coffee maker. This product arrived on time and in great shape.Item is light and well made (so far no problems). The plastic feels cheap but it works and is cheap so.....Nice removable plastic basket, I use a basket filter that I used for the filter cup, there's a swivel spout that you move out of the way to remove the filter basket, if you forget to push the spout back over the filter basket then when you close the lid it's made in a way to push the spout over the coffee grounds. The carafe is glass and plastic. The hot plate works well. All in all it's even faster than my filter cup and nice and hot just not burning hot so if you want burning hot look elsewhere. It does take about 50% more coffee grounds to make the same amount I would use with the filter cup. I typically drink one large mug which is equivalent to this carafe, I've cut down my coffee to 1/2 - 3/4 of this carafe to make up the difference in the coffee usage. For the price the convenience is worth it and now I don't have to stand over my coffee filing up the filter cup every few minutes. Love it.

Smart option for a dumb cup of coffee
My Cuisinart of 5 years died and it sent me looking for a “smart” brew option. I grind my whole beans at night before bed so I can be greeted every morning with a fresh pot when I wake. My last coffee maker had included a timer but only one setting and always took long to change, so I wanted a voice option and flexible timer for weekends and holidays. I have dozens of Alexa controlled, smart devices, so this option made sense—a simple, dumb on/off switch and a smart plug!Of my choices, this was the only one that Amazon advertised “Smart” (with a $9 plug, of course). Good move because I’m very happy with the brewing that can adapt to my schedule and now, Alexa voice control. I don't need a smart pot, I need a dumb, on/off maker with a smart plug."Alexa. Turn off coffee pot..."

Very good - but!
I use this coffee pot every day - and it works fine. Only problem is that the hinges on the cover broke - and now the cover cannot be attached to the pot. It's really very annoying.

Serves the purpose, but very cheap maker...
you got what you pay for. It makes a coffee. Very generic maker with one button On/Off. People referring to the leakage is because of the design. it is not a leakage, what happening is that the maker design to have a coffee basket as pretty much insert into the entire part of the maker and serve as the seal to the carafe. Unfortunately, during the brew process the water getting all over inside and when you open the lid to clean, pulling the basket getting some of that drops out. there is nothing you can do and if you'd like to get this one, you would have to deal with it.Some good things that I noticed:-- > When you pull the carafe before the brewing is finished, it is actually very clean comparing to other makes. so the seal between the basket and carafe is actually good.-- It does not take a lot of space.-- The carafe is kind of inside the walls of the maker that makes the carafe very stable.-- Can be plugged into the smart plug that compatible to google or amazon and you can do the automation to switch it on/off.-- Your coffee would be kept hot until you turn the switch off and this is sometimes a great thing instead of the maker goes off after 2 hours and any coffee that you left for later would become cold. Not that good:-- You have to remember to turn the makes off when not in use to avoid any fire issues.-- When finish and cleanup, some water drops can be all over. not a lot but still a little inconvenience.-- There is no visual water indicator, so you have to watch inside to how much you pour the water in. Best to fill the carafe with desired amount of the water and then pour it into the maker.-- The power cord is not that long, so you have to keep the maker close to the outlet.-- The maker is made from very cheap plastic, so, do not expect very pretty and shiny coffee maker.Over all I would give it 3 stars. It does brew coffee fine, and relatively fast. I use it with the smart switch and actually very beneficial to have it loaded night before and have a smart routine to start brewing the coffee at scheduled time in the morning.buy it or not: your decision :)
