Work Great!
Using the zip bolt to attach railings makes the railing installation very easy to do. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

The gear parts are zinc and break if over torqued
For the first rail I mounted, I used a small 12v drill to tighten the gear with the supplied hex bit and the hex bit stripped out the zinc metal socket. For the others I used a 1/4" socket screw driver for the bit and tightened by hand.I would have gladly paid more for all steel parts that wouldn't strip so easily. This is a great design but the parts are the wrong metal for a torque application. The gears make a crunching sound as the hex socket is turned, which seems like the precision of the threading is junk.If I ever need to remove the first rail, it will need to be cut out with a saw and basically destroyed. Do not tighten with a power tool and go easy with a socket wrench. Also note that if you use cable rail or balusters not connected vertically to the rail, the rail can twist easily. The fix is driving one or two small head finishing screws from inside the 1" hole in the rail into the post.

Faulty product
I will echo Mike's review:"The idea behind these items is great but after installing them and getting ready to tighten up the nut, I found that the hex nut within the device just spins and doesn’t tighten up on the threaded bolt. This ruined my entire install because I based the joint ( drilled holes ) on these specific $20 fastener. The fact that they failed is very upsetting because it ruined my $80 railing. I have to plug up the openings with a plug. You would expect for $20 you would be getting a well made part… nope, the item is a low quality metal stamped product. Total junk. Had they invested in a quality metal that is not soft , this product would actually work."Waste of time, I was very lucky to salvage my rails...

They are ok
Disappointing How easily these things can be stripped out they don’t provide a lot of torque
